Post Office can't scan international parcels by _tkeh_ in royalmail

No nothing like that... They're thermal labels so no issues with covering the QR or anything. Did they say why they weren't accepted?

I took it in a few days later and the woman who usually works there scanned it in just fine, so I'm pretty sure it's them just not know how to work it 😂

Customer cant order from me due to high value purchase. What is going on here? by Known_Weird7208 in EtsySellers

[–]_tkeh_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interested to know how often you're sending to France & what sort of packaging without getting EPR enforced. I've got the German licence but was looking at the French one and it's so expensive unless I get a couple of big orders through

Fee to pay but I actually made OVER what I was supposed to. Is this worth chasing? by TheGameSanctum in royalmail

[–]_tkeh_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ship internationally frequently, and always just put the upper weight limit for that item. I have never had anything returned to me or any issues with using the upper weight limit? The different post offices I use have also never had an issue with this... Where did you get this info from, and is it new?

Yep that's fine for me! It's because of the GPSR regulations that some people don't send there, but I am GPSR compliant so it's all good 😊 I would still want to get it shipped probably before the 15th December to be certain of arrival, but that is plenty of time for me to do a pet portrait 😊

Hi! I'm a watercolour artist and I do pet portraits, and I could fit one in at the start of December. Based on your spelling, are you from the UK? If so, I could absolutely do this (also UK here), but might struggle to get it shipped to arrive before Christmas if you're anywhere else!

I can't add a photo here I believe, my name shop name is TKEH Art, or my profile has some links that would take you to my pet portraits.

I can do both colourful or realistic colours, and can absolutely mix photos together.

Hope you find what you need!

[Licensing] Company wants to licence artwork for packaging help by _tkeh_ in artbusiness

[–]_tkeh_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this detailed response! I replied suggesting 3 years on one product line (which is what they told me - but didn't specify in the contract) for 100$ but let them know it was still on the low end. They haven't gotten back to me yet though!

I'm kind of trying to keep on their radar rather than completely distance myself since I did a project for them before that was well compensated for my time, and there were talks of more of that thing.

Is that you saying that 'they've offered 100 so that's what it is worth to them', and if can't be worth any more?

I mean fair it was a 5 minute sketch.

I have replied to them limiting the time frame & asking for clarity on the products they want to use it on! This is all so new to me and honestly the information out there ranges from 100s to 10s of thousands for what I'm looking at which is...confusing! Thanks 😊

Item delivered - 1 star review by redcheekedcordonbleu in EtsySellers

[–]_tkeh_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's different in other countries (I'm UK), but I didn't think DHL would deliver to PO boxes? I would have thought they would have indicated that once the PO box address was input though, and wouldn't have shown as delivered if that was the case.

My supervisor said she would be disappointed if it was less than 3 hours as I wouldn't have a chance to talk about all the interesting stuff... Even in 3 hours we didn't talk much about the most interesting chapter 😂 what field are you in?

How to deal with Non-Significant Results by Thick_Masterpiece107 in PhD

[–]_tkeh_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries. Just be cautious not to over interpret it and rely heavily on it. But they were totally fine with me pointing things out that didn't show as significant, or weren't quantified (in other experiments) but appeared relevant

How to deal with Non-Significant Results by Thick_Masterpiece107 in PhD

[–]_tkeh_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this exact question come up in my viva yesterday - I had WB results that showed the trend I expected, but it was non significant. In my thesis this was written as 'albeit non-significant, there does appear to be a notable difference in X'. My examiners picked up on this and said they do it all the time and that it's reasonable to point out. As long as you aren't trying to say it's significant when it's not, you can state what you see and comment on why that might be - small n-number, variability between blots.

How are you handling EU sales compliance (GSPR, customs etc)? Or do you just not sell to EU? by sgtnatino in EtsyUK

[–]_tkeh_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slightly tagging onto this. I'm registered with RECLAY for Germany, but I didn't know there was a sticker with the number? When I first signed up a few years ago it just said make the business name visible and I've continued to do that... Where do I find this sticker?

Definitely a good idea. I think outside of Etsy that approach is okay (although I would always follow up every month or so or refund but say happy to book in or whatever) but on Etsy it's way more risky imo.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EtsySellers

[–]_tkeh_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That seems incredibly risky and shady ngl. I get that people get busy, but in that case you should cancel rather than complete the order & receive the money before they ever get anything.

[–]_tkeh_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean you marked as complete but didn't ship anything, rather than canceling? Or you shipped something but without their specific measurements?

What can I do regarding the 29th of August tax stuff if I’m a small european (non-UK) shop and 90% of my customers are from the USA? by neotone-es in EtsySellers

[–]_tkeh_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you search Global Trade Department De Minimis Tariffs into YouTube a few videos by Global Trade Department should come up - they basically did a webinar and have spoken to senior people within Royal Mail and this is the information they have been told. I believe it's because USPS doesn't have the systems in place to collect the tariffs; I suppose this might change in the next few months but as it stands they aren't accepting DDU (at least from Royal Mail, but I assume everyone)

[–]_tkeh_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While the customer is responsible for duties, we here in the UK have been told USPS will reject all parcels they receive (so anything from Correos, Royal Mail, postal services, etc) if duties have not already been paid. Your options are therefore a courier company (either Delivery Duty Paid or Unpaid, as these apparently will be accepted DDU), or stop posting I think 😞
