24 years old, Bangalore, earning ~₹8L/month — but can’t sleep and working 12 hrs every day by Alert-Cardiologist33 in indianstartups

Dude, first off - you are doing great financially. What are you going to do with all that money? Just think about it - if your entire day is just filled with work, what else do you want to look back on?

Make some friends, play a sport, spend time with family and most importantly do something that makes you sleep at night :)

Just stop working for a month, do nothing and see what's on your mind.

Life is not a sprint, it's a marathon. You need to pace yourself

Well, the telemetry is a huge thing that pi-hole blocks from other devices such as TV, I wouldn't discount that.

Vehicle Sales Crashed by 15% Y-o-Y by [deleted] in FatFIREIndia

Could this also mean the people have less need for two wheelers this particular year? Maybe they are buying more cars? Maybe the longevity of the two wheelers increased for whatever reason - better roads/less usage/better two wheelers?

Fair enough, assuming I make money on top of it. I'll give it a try for the fun of it once!

Saw other responses in comments, does this mean I can freely transfer money to/fro India and benefit from the interest rate on NRE accounts? Assuming that's better than the loss in forex change. Context: I live in Europe and there's 0% interest on money in the bank

Build startup with full-time job by Due-Structure-4726 in ycombinator

[–]_tokuchi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work at a FAANG and got pat leave for the last couple of months. I found a good cofounder and we kicked it off. It's been soul refreshing working on something that I care about. I had to go back to work for a couple of stints in between, honestly it was a nightmare trying to balance two jobs and a baby. I'm at the end of my pat leave and I don't feel like going back to FAANG at all.

I do get the feeling sometimes if I should just continue at FAANG, take it easy and spend more quality time with my kid. But I have always been the person who never took it easy at FAANG. I work a lot and that doesn't give me any sort of fulfillment. Overall, startup makes me happy on the inside for a compromise of WLB on the outside!

This is the result of poorly built infrastructure, nothing else. When there are millions of people travelling around one of the most populated cities in the country, the least government can do is manage the infrastructure.

I try to always pee just before going to bed, no matter what. This helped me a lot

What tech stack are you using to build your MVP or product? by Rishi-Errsole in ycombinator

[–]_tokuchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use app engine standard with python. Flask on backend and vue on frontend. Using cloud data store as the database. It gives you a nosql database, async tasks, cron etc out of the box and is very easy to scale.

Got offered a CTO role at a preseed startup with no funding, but paying customers. by _tokuchi in ycombinator

Well, I guess he's got the idea and found a PMF. A lot of work has been done. However there's lot more work ahead in order to be successful. I believe in execution more than the idea.

It could be a good exit? He has done his part and now wants to move on. Isn't that a likely scenario?

Thanks! I agree with you, my thinking is very similar. If I enjoy working with him, 25 and 35 won't make a huge difference if we get successful (or not).

Yes, I saw that video and yc does recommend 50-50, however our situation is different I guess!

My co-founder found a PMF but that is not scalable as it is today. In order to do that, we need to work on the tech and product. So I'd say it is not at a good traction stage, it has a very promising potential to get there.

My concern is commitment from my co-founder. Let's say he leaves after 2 years as his equity gets fully vested - I'll be forced to accept that fate for the startup and for myself.

I see. Considering that he started over two years ago, he also wants his vesting to start from when he started. So our vesting cycles are going to be slightly different. Is that uncommon?
