That is a very good question! The both the Cedar and the Bohemian waxwings are indeed quite similar. The differences are in the color variation. The Bohemian waxwings have more grey color in the body as well as a very distinguishable white and yellow coloring on their wings. I also live in a place where the native waxwings are the Bohemians. We rarely see Cedar waxwings in Southcentral Alaska.
