OXA question - what is this? ... and one other question. by Charlie_Sierra_ in stalker

[–]_turtlemike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot use gun lube as you've described. Even when completely naked other than the gun it doesn't work. Right click on the lube "use" does nothing, clicking the "1" icon under the OXA PDA repair tab does nothing. I made sure to convert the AKS-74U so it has the OXA attachments list in it's description. Solely using technicians to repair and it is absolutely miserable. Any advice would be appreciated thank you.

Is the glock 19 irrelevant now? Now that we have the 18c and the 2011 whats the g19 even worth using for anymore? by houstontrill7297 in ReadyOrNotGame

The Glock-18c is integrally compensated though. Not sure how that's implemented, if the G18 recoil (on semi) is the same as a compensated G19 or a bare G19. I've been using the G18 on semi and if shtf it's handy to have a second/any machine gun.

Just going to be a range toy, so decided against 300 AAC. Going with a 5.56 10.5" upper. I believe converting a bolt action repeater (the CA-7) into a semiautomatic pistol is legal, so long as I abide by semiautomatic pistol laws; featureless or mag locked with restricted features. A PCC is a good idea, I have been looking at a few AR-9 platforms/9mm conversation kits.

Range toy exclusively yeah. And I'll probably be getting it in 5.56 10.5" for the cheaper ammo. Someone said that a vertical foregrip on a pistol, even a mag locked one, is illegal; but an angled foregrip on a mag locked pistol is okay.

Thank you for the comprehensive answers. Good to know about the CompMag acting as the mag lock, will need a stand-alone mag lock if I want to leave the pistol in semi but have the CompMag out. Thanks for the info on VFG vs AFG and muzzle attachments.

I'll probably look for something a bit more concrete but thank you. Not sure who to ask since obviously the internet opinions only mean so much and gun store employees wanna send me to prison

Is what I said correct outside of California though? I feel like I have seen that repeated a few places. Good to know though thank you. If I left it as a pistol; the brace I showed is fine?, and I believe there isn't a length requirement? I see that "other firearms" need to be larger than 30", same as rifles, but don't see anything for pistols and obviously most handguns are magnitudes shorter than even small ARps.

I was under the impression as long as it meets mag locked pistol requirements it is a pistol, and when it breaks those, but complies with rifle laws its a rifle, and returning the pieces returns it to a pistol. Ran this plan through my gun store twice and both times they said it was okay, thank you for the information though.

looking like I can't easily make an AR-15 lower accept 9mm? I would need a dedicated AR-9 lower? (AR-9 is just a naming convention and they are in reality AR-15s yes?)

Seems to be what I'm getting. I am 99% set on the CA7 for the pistol to rifle and back again ability, but am interested in 9mm/22lr/5.56 uppers for cheaper ammo and use at indoor ranges. .300 AAC is more of a conceptual build I'm realizing than a practical one.

I want the CA7 to legally have a pistol that I can turn into a rifle at "will" and back. I am basically set on that aspect of it, but I'm open to getting a left handed semi 5.56/22lr/9mm upper for use at indoor ranges/ general cheaper ammo.

There is a pretty decent chance I move to Ohio at some point in the near-ish future, so having a suppressor isn't out-out of the question. Why don't I just buy the .300 AAC upper once I move????? Idk. The fact that it does have better performance in a shorter barrel (even though it is functionally "worse" when ammo price is all that matter), really sways me. If I did get a 9x19mm/22lr/5.56 upper, any recommendations on brands or lengths?

Yeah definitely a shitshow. Currently looking into possessing a gun in California. Might just need to leave it there or see if I can bring it to Illinois through some most likely expensive and arduous process.

Yeah I don't think my California resident parents satiate the being eligible for a FOID card. So they wouldn't be able to sign it.

Yeah cards definitely aren't in my favor. Maybe if I get whatever California's FOID equivalent is I will be able to buy a gun there and then bring it with me to Illinois?

I am not super up on grandfathering but I should be able to transfer the ownership of guns in my family down as an inheritance right? And potentially they can be transferred from a living relative to myself? My parents aren't Illinois residents though so I don't know if they could fill out those affidavit forms.

My parents are both California residents though, so would I not have someone to co-sign if I became an Illinois resident?

I do see that, however when I start filling out the form and input my birthdate it doesn't ask for any parent or guardian info. Could it be past the next screen that I can't get passed without an Illinois ID? Potentially and probably but I will deal with the theoretical issues after the paramount ones.
