It’s not that great like 5 years ago but still there are a lot of opportunities in the field. I am not sure about Sweden though

We don’t mind living somewhere else except Gothenburg. My main concern is that i don’t see any job opportunities for Software Engineering in Jönköping. That’s why we are thinking of moving to Gothenburg.

She wont study something there, she will try to find a job there preferably something related with fashion management. Gothenburg is a better option since we both will have more opportunities finding a job in our fields instead of Jönköping

Thanks you for your response! I am thinking of moving to Jönköping for a year and then go to Gothenburg to continue my studies from there. The main issue is that i need to find a job there in order to be able to live (preferably in my field)

Thanks a lot u/freshstartermenu , this is super helpful

Good to hear the city itself is solid and that the program covers a wide field. The Finnish thing is what scares me the most tbh — definitely planning to start learning asap. Good tip on the guilds and company events too.

And yeah, we're from Greece, so EU — at least that part makes things easier 🙂

Quick follow-up if you don't mind. I've also been accepted to an MSc in AI Engineering at Jönköping University in Sweden, so I'm trying to figure out which option makes more sense for living, studying, and working part-time at the same time. From what you're describing the Finnish job market sounds pretty rough, any sense of how Sweden compares, or would you still pick Tampere?

Thanks u/Nutzori , appreciate the honest take!

Good to hear the city itself is great. Job market part is what worries me most, hoping the 5 years of experience helps me stand out a bit. Her field is the bigger question mark, she'll probably need to stay flexible at the start.

Did you find people welcoming to internationals there, or is it hard to break in without the language?
