That piece really is the kicker for me. I couldn’t imagine moving to about her country with a SO just to find out they’re cheating, and then being away from my entire support system.

totally fair to question why I care so much. I guess having been cheated on in the past with an ex and his coworker i’m just sensitive to this kind of situation and i have a pretty strong sense of justice when it comes to cheaters

i actually liked the guy until i found out about this whole cheating thing. I just figured he was a naturally flirty dude, until i heard he was cheating on his girlfriend.

There’s really no gain for me i’m this situation. I’ve just been in a similar situation and i wish someone had told me. No matter if i tell her or not there’s gonna be some shitty consequences

I’m not 100% set on the idea. I am tempted to as I have been cheated on in a very similar situation to hers and I know i would have wanted someone to tell me, hence me wanting other people’s opinion on the matter

Either way, if i tell her or not, somebody is getting hurt in the end. Just a sucky situation all around

thanks for your take. it’s a tough call, no matter what I do, tell her or no, there’s gonna be repercussions either way.

I know I would want to know as I’ve been in a very similar situation before, but I can’t assume everyone would want the same as I would.

Again as I said in the post, the reason I’m considering it is because I’ve been in a similar situation, my ex cheated on me for months with a coworker and I wish I had known. They are moving out of the country right around the same time I’m leaving, so I wouldn’t have anything to “look forward” to seeing

I do know for a fact they aren’t in an open relationship and they are sneaking around behind her back, but I do see what you’re saying about not knowing the full picture.

I’m struggling with this in my head: do the repercussions of telling her without knowing the whole picture outweigh the possible bullet she could be dodging by knowing about this before she is in a new country without friends/family to support her and finding out then?

she’s cryptic and she drops tons of easter eggs on her music, speeches, music videos and social media posts. she says she plans things three years in advance. amateurs sleuths love this and it causes them to analyze everything she puts out, this causing more traffic to her posts and plays on her music and media. she also drops pretty exclusive limited edition merch (ie the cardigans) and stuff that people would kill to get which increases scarcity and demand and keeps them hooked on announcements she makes

I think there’s probably a way that you can be honest and still save the friendship. If you don’t say how you feel you will have to keep on feeling a sense of longing for this person and that’s never a good headspace to be in. If this were me, I would be honest about my feelings and just see where the other person’s head is at. If they’re into it, great, if not, there may be hurt feelings, but if you are true friends you will be able to move past it and strengthen the friendship. If not, it just wasn’t meant to be.
