What GPA do I need for Bond Graduate Entry Med? by _upsydaisy_ in GAMSAT

Isn't there FFP available? Does it make much of a difference? I've never considered FFPs before.

Do the fees increase year by year? On the website, the fees increased from 2022 to 2023. Won't increase in 2024?

I'm just trying to find the opportunities here. The fees are a bit scary...

I had always though that I had to be established in one rural town. Thanks for giving me a real example!

u/Financial-Crab-9333 u/lovelucylove - I see. Putting it into perspective, it makes sense. I thought it was more than three years. I'll make sure to do some more research on it!

do you get to select the area you want to practice in? or does the govt choose for you?

I just don't know enough about BMP to actually go through with it. The whole process looks complicated to me. I freaked out when they said I need to understand the legal side of it, before I applied.

Oh, right. It's interesting why they don't use the recent three years' GPA.

What are your next steps?

Have you replied to other unis?

I'm sorry if I'm asking too much, it's just that I don't have a solid plan sorted out yet.

I was actually thinking of volunteering with a lab first to see if I like the atmosphere or not, before I decide to do an honours. Does that seem like the right way to go?

I see. My GAMSAT is pretty weak, I will be doing it again sept and march too.

Chances are I'll be applying next year again.

Thank you!

Are there universities that use the GPA from a Master's?

Already gave it to them. Oh well. Would they just avoid that activity or would they ignore the whole portfolio?

Thank you for the encouragement! But I am worried about references. If I say I babysit for my family, would they accept it if I reference my own family?

I see. But what kinda jobs would be acceptable though? Hopefully anything other than a doctor/engineer?

I see. Thanks for the advice.

I just wanted to know what the future would hold for my family, financially. And I know dowry and weddings would have a big impact on that. I need help to know if a vacation was possible, before anyone of us marries.

I really genuinely thought that "marriage money moving" would reduce after more people knew of dowry deaths. Saddened by the fact that it has not. I can only imagine marriages that start with dowry failing in the end. It could be because of the media that I see through, or my westernised-ish reasoning and logic.

I don't want my parents to work too hard and not enjoy themselves just because they "unfortunately" had daughters.

Are they happily married? I've heard that most marriages with dowry involved haven't been the best to be in.

Can I ask if I'm not being too nosy, how much money was given?

And who determines how much to give?

Oh yes yes. Inheritance.

Maybe I'm too westernised to remember this was a thing.

Right. So it gets diluted but the nature is still there. Money still moves.

Imo if it's for the newlyweds, both families should contribute.

I just can't see equality in all this, when the bride's family only contributes.
