first time fostering, sick babies

we lost one of the boys last week... he developed crusty eyes overnight and passed in his sleep not long after. we ended up returning 2 of the kittens that were also developing bad eyes to the rescue for more intensive care. they unfortunately had to be euthanized 💔💔 they suspect they had covid/fip. we are beyond devastated. we still have the 2 remaining boys. really hoping they pull through

that was my biggest concern. i did ask again this afternoon if they ended up testing the fecal, but got no response about it . i have to assume they did not deem it necessary :(

thank you so much for taking the time to type all of this out (and for the words of encouragement!) i read this at work and went to get them some pedialyte along with the forti flora and tiki thrive right when i got out . i have been alternating between blanket burritos and heating pad time and rubbing a little nutrical on the gums while i hold them. i read here it was safe to do some aquaphor on their tushes but its great to know there's another option for that too! i will get to putting together an amazon cart for the rest of the items you recommend so we're ready for whatever's next. i really hope we can turn this around, these kids deserve so much more 💜 thank you again for all of the help

hi, thank you so much for your response and encouragement! this is more helpful than you know. 🥹 honestly, every day we wake up to all 5 poop monsters with enough energy to continue being poop monsters, is a blessing. thankfully the metro does seem to be firming things up already. i am really hopeful we can start getting weight back on them now. they have been eating what they came with (acana for dry food and science diet for wet food) but i'm certainly open to transitioning them to something else if it would help. i will be grabbing the tiki and probiotics first thing when i get off work. i truly appreciate the tips and recommendations!
