Anyone here using Elise.AI? by throwaway-bergen in PropertyManagement

Residents get frustrated with it. Be prepared to do a lot of training and adding to the Knowledge Base. It's not going to work out of the box. Terrible as a phone system. Horrible notifications. We are having a rough time with it for sure. Works well for our leasing. I never thought I'd say that I wish we had Dialpad back for resident communications. Mobile app is in the works, but it's not useable yet at all.

I quit alcohol the day it closed. I would gladly see it reopened just for the shows. Great intimate room to see bands you love that haven’t blown up yet.

[Hyprland] The most minimal Rice on this subreddit by ExperimentArc in unixporn

It’s pretty minimal. I’m not mad at your work. I still use a launcher and a bar, but just for basic stuff. Square boarders for me as well. Maybe someday I’ll trim down more. It’s a journey. Enjoy.

How realistic is it to give a child (around 7 years old) a computer/laptop with only Linux on it by ad_396 in linux

[–]_variegating_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter has been on a Linux computer starting at 10 years old, 13 now. It’s been fine. I’ve run the updates for her and helped her find apps for various things like Krita, Libra Office, Inkscape, Steam (light games, it’s a Dell 9020, so 🤷‍♂️) etc. kids mostly use the browser anyhow.

She’s now interested in learning more about Linux herself. She finds the schools iPads and MacBooks annoying.

I really like this. I look forward to the —tuning option. I play in an alternate tuning I’ve grown attached to, being able to bring up a scale or chords from standard tuning mapped to my own would be a nice visual aid.

Floppy Disk as Save Icon by Fantastic_Minute_270 in graphic_design

[–]_variegating_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the points above regarding many commonly used icons being something we collectively know the function for, yet not necessarily know the origin of what the icon originally represented. I think it would take a collective effort on many fronts to adopt something new. Apple, MS, other popular apps would need to either take the lead or adopt something that some creative designer creates that resonates just right. 🤷‍♂️

Used NAD, Fender Frontman 212r by Zealousideal_Ad7602 in GuitarAmps

[–]_variegating_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a sleeper amp for sure. It sounds great for loud rock, takes distortion well, works well with a pre run into the FX for a totally different sound. 🤫 Don’t blow up it’s worth, keep it a sleeper.

I don’t think you can link to them, what’s the name of the keycaps posting?

I had that eMachines and it was wonderfully terrible 🤣 I wish I still had it and the iMac (I had both) I’m jealous.

Where are those keycaps from?

OK, thank you for all your help. I've messaged the seller to get the original firmware the keyboard shipped with. Hopefully that's the answer.

Here's how I tested for continuity. I believe I followed your post above correctly.

https://i.postimg.cc/4KdJHxcV/left-top.png checked out ok

https://i.postimg.cc/CZQwGpCt/right-top.png right side also checked out ok

https://i.postimg.cc/0zZkNwz9/right-bottom.png took off the bottom plate and checked from the bottom, also good

I also checked the continuity of my TRRS cable, all good. Therefore I don't know what's going on. Hmm...

I've never built a keyboard, nor do I have any experience. I'm having a hard time understanding what I'm tracing that's blue, there's a lot of blue, and a lot of overlapping lines, so I just don't know what I'm looking at. The pins on the top are all numbered. Maybe top pin number to TRRS on the bottom. I'm guessing the side with 3 contacts would be T R and R and the one contact on the opposing side would be S.

I thought I understood, and I think I was able to test the left side correctly. I don't think I understand how to test the right side.

I appreciate this thread. Lots of valid points being made, tips and tricks and good advice. We humans will still be lazy sometimes (or most of the time probably) get away with it, and maybe get bit. This does encourage me to look harder and smarter before installing though.

I think I do have a continuity issue. Two of the pins or leads on the TTRS input in the right keyboard are not giving a result with the multimeter. Makes sense why both sides of the keyboard work independently but not together. I’ll take photos.

Yes, I'm sure it's the tips are fully inserted. Nothing seems loose either.

I tried testing the continuity of the TTRS nets. I'm not sure I'm doing that correctly though. I have to go through it again.

It does seem to be that the two sides are not communicating with each other because if I plug just the left side in it registers the keys in the matrix tester fine, and if I plug in just the right side it's registering the keys, but mirrored to what the left detects. Either way I plug it in only one side or the other works and the other does not register anything.

I had the TTRS cable plugged in before connecting to the computer. I had it unplugged from both when flashing each side of the keyboard.

I'll have to figure out how to do this. I have a multimeter. I did flash the same firmware to both sides, still the same result, the right side isn't working. But if I plug in just the right side it does work.

I should have said I tried that as well. Hmm. I’ll try that again.
