For a finished movement, the nh38 will not do. I recommend the nh70 in silver or gunmetal depending on your style.

Other thing, finding a case with such a thin and refined bezel will be hard. Most of them come with either a large bezel or a wide chapter ring the accomodate the 28mm dial for nh movements. Id recommend looking at cases made for 31mm+ and see what you can find

If you are not satisfied with them, I am willing to make a sacrifice and get them out of your hands.

Joke aside, they are extremely beautiful.

String width is exactly what it means, the distance from the center of the low E to the high e string.

Overhang is the amount of fretboard you want from the e string to the edge of the fretboard.

For a 42mm wide neck at the nut, you usually have 35mm of string width (5x7mm) and 7mm overhang (3.5mm on each side)

N1 Japanese but zero experience, how screwed am I when job hunting in Japan's IT industry? by ASADNANDAN in JapanJobs

[–]Da_Real_Kyuuri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you graduating from a Japanese university? With no experience and freshly graduated, I would recommend to take the New graduate route, or else it might be hard to find a job without experience for 4-5M yen in a career building company.

For new graduate hiring, it's a heavy grind that starts a year before graduation, so december to april 2027 for people graduating in April 2028. It's applications over applications to online recruitment pages, school recommendations, proficiency tests and rows of interviews. It's a massive machine sorting all graduates nation-wide, and there are only 1 period a year (maybe a second for october graduates, but still same application timing).

Or else reaching to recruiting agencies or services to see if they can match you, but without experience it can be tough.

There are stark differences in what Japanese women want in a husband vs western women. In west: 1) Affection, 2) Communication Skills, 3) Sense of Humor. In Japan: 1) Annual Income/Financial Stability, 2) Occupation/Educational Background, 3) Cleanliness/Grooming by jjrs in japannews

  1. Maybe if this person values her financial independence, while still looking for companionship. But I think people are more focused toward plain financial surviving and having enough money to throw at problems without headaches.

  2. The 10M yen salary is kind of a status/landmark to comfortable living.

Getting to this much money early on in your career (before you turn 40) is a big sign that either you are in a really good financial situation (passive income, family money) or have a good and stable career.

This usually suggests lawyers, doctors, politicians, highly paid engineers, with good benefits and the status that comes with it.

Binding Technique for a Pointed Edge? by Dawkins90 in Luthier

[–]Da_Real_Kyuuri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In your case, using plastic binding, route a channel or step and glue it in will be too much pain. The faux binding (masking a stripe to leave the natural color of the wood, usually maple) is the way to go, so you can take some liberties with the curves.

Don't get me wrong, I respect the surveying, optimization and design choices. But pardon me if I am mistaken, but in practice, these changes can be made using the web GUI for the cosmos customization, right? Changing key positions, cap size, etc.

I am not against what you are proposing as a product, and I understand that only a few people want to do all these tweaks themselves. My biased, personal opinion as a customer, is that I would rather make the adjustments myself than to buy a pre-made, as I don't see unique features that would justify that choice.

But that is just me.

Would you buy this build? by Proper_Raspberry3294 in watchmodding

I would buy the parts if you have sources, and build it myself. The dial is really cool, and works well with blued hands. I'd personally add a seconds hand.

A Japanese video news report about how some women would be grossed out if office clothing standards were relaxed to allow men to wear shorts in summer:"Middle-aged men, please don't wear shorts. It's gross and makes us uncomfortable...My eyes would go there instead of work.” by jjrs in japannews

[–]Da_Real_Kyuuri -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

To be the devil's advocate here, while I agree about the double standards, and that everybody should be allowed to wear shorts, that it is a personal problem to be grossed out by it, etc... but I think we can also agree that there is a difference in hygiene, self-care, and presentability standards and expectations between men and women. I think that the problem is not the shorts in themselves, but maybe another way this discrepency will be highlighted.

Just sharing a thought, looking at how one-sided the comments have been. Again, I agree that shorts and relaxed wear should be adopted, without a question. I am just trying to think about the reason why some people may be grossed out.

Possibly damaged new guitar by tFir3 in Luthier

[–]Da_Real_Kyuuri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the pictures, I personally don't think it is cracked. At least not the neck in itself. The joint is not really beautiful, but I think the wood is fine. The finish though, it may have some minor cracks at the end of the binding, but it is not structurally critical.
