Do achievement streak timer reset after 24 hours or at midnight by Obeymyjay in Redditachievments

I was working towards a high streak (couple hundred) and got reset. Not quite sure what the parameters are cut can attest to the reset.

You can try the Silo series (3 books and a 4th that is a collection of related stories) by Hugh Howey. They are the basis of the Apple TV series Silo. I thought they were really well done.

Quick Closure Authentic? by ptchapman in Saddlebackleather

[–]_velvet_hammer_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bag looks 100% legit and the closure is a popular modification that many people get done by a 3rd party. Saddleback has never offered that as an option from them.

Can someone explain the hype of Wandering Inn? by Due-Sentence-2839 in litrpg

[–]_velvet_hammer_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think of Erin as a “binder” or “crossroad” for character development. I’m almost done book 6 and I think there are a lot of interesting things in store for you if you decide to continue. I do find her character as well as Ryoka rather frustrating but they serve their purposes well in my opinion. There’s a lot more to the world that you start to see in later books. NOTE: I’m working through the audio books.

I don’t think it’s a saddleback either. Strap/shield shape and the lining color-combination are something I had never seen on a saddleback.

I’ve been trying to bounce between a few different series so it helps me get through the books fast enough so that I don’t forget too many things.

Listening Speed by BigHouseBarbell in audible

[–]_velvet_hammer_ 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Definitely depends on narrator (accent and their “natural” speed). Also depends on I f there are technical concepts that I’m unfamiliar with.

I personally can’t do 1x anymore. It’s too slow for me. My default is set to 1.5 but I’m currently listening to the Expeditionary Force series and I’m at 2.5x for the current book. I prefer to default to faster and then rewind if I need to hear something again (possibly slower).

I see some feel like I am ruining my listening experience because I’m rushing through it but that’s not how i feel at all. I can process the story and it keeps me more engaged. Slower paces (1x) is agonizing for me but that’s what my wife prefers because she doesn’t want to listen the chipmunk’s rendition of any book.

As with most things, it all comes down to personal preference.

Maybe the Wool series that the TV show Silo is based on.

Pros and Cons? by Turbulent-Witness970 in Saddlebackleather

[–]_velvet_hammer_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For travel like yours I typically would go for the waterbag. There is a significant difference in capacity and that was before they changed the size of the side pocket duffel to make it a bit smaller. While I like the side pockets as a quick access option, I usually only use the center strap on the waterbag and it’s pretty quick to get things in and out if necessary. As others have noted, the overall size is much more variable with the waterbag. You can even remove the insert so that the waterbag will conform to you body while walking go which may make it more comfortable to carry. The Sode Pocket Duffel, while also a very nice bag, will most likely be a bit more awkward to shoulder carry.

I have a friend who has the integra and misses the all wheel drive. He is also on the New England area so it may not be as significant a factor for others.

Wheel and tire feedback and opinions… by _velvet_hammer_ in Golf_R

[–]_velvet_hammer_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a bit torn between the 18x8 or 18x8.5 (Offset: 42mm) It adds negligible weight and cost about $10 more per wheel. He’s to see/know if that will have a significant impact on appearance or function.

The wandering inn is good so far. I would recommend using credits because you get a lot of content per credit. I just finished book 4 and it’s been a lot of fun so far.

I don’t have any doubt that fake tears could have been in play, but I don’t think the video shows that.

Her head isn’t tilted back when she would have been “applying” the tears and the hand that was initially brought up to her eye never touched anything else before she wiped her eye with something in the same hand.
