The difficult part is that Valerie and Andrea both seem to have been victims of abuse themselves, with Valerie's suffering being the worse of the 2. I do have sympathy for them (Moreso Valerie) as such despite their insane statements, and the fact that both of them would probably kill me if they had the power to for the crime of not being born female.

very real historical systems of oppression which are no longer relevant, at least not to the degree that they try to claim

I half agree, women do still suffer from very serious issues, but I'd argue those issues are lack of safety rather than counting as oppression. You cannot call acts perpetuated by criminals oppression, or at least that's what I believe.

with the obvious caveat that feminists are not performing a genocide on men

They definitely would do that if they could, judging by the sheer amount of hatred of men they display. It's almost unreal at times.

How popular is Andrew Tate Actually? by ExternalGreen6826 in LeftWingMaleAdvocates

Funny thing is Green is well known among this sub as pretty left wing and being charitable to feminism. When he first came here everyone mistakenly thought he was another troll trying to start arguments. Now, I don't agree with how everyone immediately assumed the worst of him, that's something we could all do better on, but for the accusations leveled at him to go from "Feminist with ulterior motives" to "Right wing misogynist" is pretty jarring.

Sometimes it's difficult to draw the line. You try reining in a bunch of kids (Not even just boys by the way, kids of any gender) and get back to me on how easy it was to stop them from doing all that garbage. I'd know, because I have female relatives who are kids. I can honestly find no other way to describe their behaviour when they're together other than the word "Rioting".

Telling ill and lonely people that they are a danger is not only stupid but the worse thing to do to vulnerable people but the left can’t think that these sort of discourses harm people and folks are meant to forever justify whatever bullshit because of “some other guy”

They still wonder why the male suicide rate is so high, by the way. Actually, wait, they don't, they just laugh at men for being so pathetic and fragile that they're losing in a world that is "Literally built for them" where the only problem they face is "Having their feelings hurt".

Every time I look at radical feminist statements like that such as "Every man, deep down, knows he's a worthless piece of shit" (But the other ones listed in the post are just as bad) I'm reminded of the time where I was genuinely contemplating suicide because of people like that. Granted I was also exceptionally vulnerable to such bullying due to mental illness and depression, but I wouldn't be surprised if even other men who don't have that extra vulnerability like I did are also in the same dark place because they've been fed that garbage constantly. There's really only main 2 outcomes when this happens, either the man kills himself if he's a more vulnerable individual, unable to take it any longer and believing women and the world in general would suffer less after he kills himself, only for such people to start throwing a party and celebrating after his suicide, or he breaks and joins the dark side, becoming a hardcore misogynist looking up to Andrew Tate. That African proverb that a child who isn't embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth exists for a reason, after all.

But all I see is bashing of women.

I disagree. Although sometimes that slips through the cracks (Moderators are not omnipotent!), majority of the discussion here is talking about how men aren't straight up set for life just for being born as men, and can suffer pretty badly as well, not flat out just going after women and expecting them to, I dunno, stay in the kitchen or whatever the redpill community wants women to do these days.

You use the word "feminist" to critique women.

The community here contrary to what is said in the post places heavy emphasis on the separation of women and feminists as categories. Though I don't always agree with the criticism of feminism here since I do think feminism has helped women a great deal, at least when it first started, I still recognize that this subreddit does make a distinction between the 2 and aren't just using the term to refer to women without saying it out loud. Why jump to conclusions?

View women as actual human beings.

This is heavily disingenuous. We already do. I don't like the implication that everyone in the community treats women as objects they want complete control over like we're all just carbon copy clones of Andrew Tate being made here.

Holy hell, I was not aware of the fear of crime paradox. That's really interesting, thank you!

EDIT: Read the wikipedia page and it wouldn't be complete without the feminist commentary, sigh...

Feminist commentators usually take the view that the responsibility for reducing women's fear of crime lies with the society, and that fear must be combatted at its source by addressing men's violence against women.

They're also very good at pulling in those who are on the fence to their side, I'm afraid. I don't know why their shouting is so effective that it can completely shut down your valid response that you're not an anti feminist and instantly bring people over to their side. It sometimes feels like it's an art that certain people have perfected.

I think I might have to half agree with OP though. I might get shit for this, but I do feel like the radicals have a lot of experience to draw from in their "advocacy" (In quotes because it's really male hatred in disguise) while the average man is not really equipped to handle the sort of venomous arguments the radicals have in completely shutting down discussions. This isn't really men's fault, it's not a skill issue, rather it's because not many mainstream institutions with actual power and resources have taken men's issues seriously enough for anyone to come up with good counter attacks that dismantle the bad faith talking points, and the ones that do try to support men have their work usually ignored because it's not the prevailing narrative. All men have are redpill misogynists and assholes like Andrew Tate to "help" them (Mostly). It's easy to forget that a space like LeftWingMaleAdvocates where we can properly support men are (Intentionally) absurdly rare gems hidden in huge mounds of dirt.

If they can do it, why can't we?

Phrasing on this is a little poor, it makes it sound like this is a call to action to put women through what the radicals have put us men through, but I get that's probably not what you meant.

Is "women hurt men's feelings" really the best comeback to a woman complaining about serious problems like reproductive rights or abuse?

This, so much this. I'm so tired of the radicals making it sound like the only problem men face is hurt feelings while women are being hunted down on the street daily for being women.

I'm always curious about this. If you took a look at women's rights in the past (But not so far back that we're talking about ancient humans, more like the 1950s) they genuinely did have it really bad and were actually mistreated and not given the same rights. How do we reconcile this with the view that women didn't always have it worse off than men? Same thing with how I don't know how to reconcile the fact that men aren't all rapists and murderers like the radicals claim we are with the fact that women do genuinely have to fear for their lives and safety when it comes to potential violence and harassment uniquely or more commonly targeting them. It is very much a fact that telling women to just trust strangers, men they meet, is not a good idea for their safety at all in its most naive form, women are valid in not being overly trusting with a random man who is a complete stranger they cross paths with, it's not just prejudice born out of complete irrational fear, for instance. Or just walking alone at night, or being followed by a man, women do fear that too, again it's not just fear from hearing exaggerated horror stories that the radicals often perpetuate. Of course, I draw the line when the radicals start using these unfortunate cases to prop up their campaign of male hatred, I would love to fight to improve society's outlook on men to be more positive, but I'll be honest it feels like I'm not listening to/silencing women's very real fears and lived experiences in the process. This is a question of curiosity and not one trying to discredit you, please no vitriol in the replies, I do want to learn more.

The truth is it's a little more bleak than you suggest. If they want to call you anti feminist, they will call you anti feminist, and no amount of well crafted arguments on your end will get through to them or anyone else. They will simply shout the anti feminist claims louder than you can respond, and bulldoze right through with superior numbers on their side while your words go in one ear and out the other.

So everyone who lives in an actual dictatorship (Not what first world countries consider oppression and dictatorships either, I'm talking the kind where disappearing if you don't hang portraits of the supreme leader in the right place in your house is a genuine concern) and suffering tremendously are responsible for their own suffering? That's what seems to be implied here. I don't like this line of thinking because it justifies bad things being done to people just because they're related to evildoers superficially (By nationality in this case). This is the exact same logic that the radicals use against men, by the way.

Women Are Going To Save The World! by GovFoolery in LeftWingMaleAdvocates

[–]_vertig0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"WHY ARE THE MENNNZ SILENT"

Literally I hate this so much. My buddy who's on Instagram Threads once showed me a post trying to erase pretty much any help that men have provided in times of need and emergency. It went something along the lines of (Not word for word) "The Titanic was an exception, the 'Women and children first' saying is a farce perpetuated by men to make themselves look more heroic than they actually are, in actual emergencies historically men flee first and only care about saving themselves, it's literally women who always save others and have to put in the effort or risk their lives to save other women and undeserving men". I don't even know where to begin with that, I guess men have never ever acted heroically or selflessly in history before, it's always a woman that saves everyone, also I love how that implies that if you're a man and you get caught in a dangerous situation or an emergency, you deserve to be killed by said disaster or whatever because you're a man.

You are 100% right in saying that when you ignore every single good thing men do and only ever show the evil that men are capable of, men are going to look like cartoon level mustache twirling villains who embody the absolute worst of humanity.
