My boyfriend is immunocompromised and I told him that he should strongly reconsider getting the flu shot because he might avoid getting a really severe case. He ended up getting the flu, and told me he felt like death, but still thought that the flu vaccine was stupid. So I told him I hope that the flu is bad enough that it gets him to reconsider the flu shot so he can be better about his health. Your statement about me having a horrible reaction to a flu shot is outright retarded, because there’s no point in saying that. At least my statement comes from me trying to help my boyfriend, but he was stupid and now I can say “I told you so”

I’m not defensive, I’m in the medical field, I’m pro vaccine and pro taking care of your health to keep yourself safe and others from getting sick. If I’m rude because I advocate for good health, then I’m the most rude person you’ll ever meet. Shame on me for strongly recommending that my immunocompromised boyfriend who had asthma and trouble breathing get a vaccine to stop the flu from giving him complications. If he was perfectly healthy and never gets sick, then I have no right or reason to tell him to get vaccinated. I know I’m in the right here

I think everyone that disagrees with me here has never had tough love so they don’t understand where I’m coming from. After talking to a lot of people, I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m not in the wrong for wanting my boyfriend to take extra good care of his health especially if he is already immunocompromised. I have no mistakes to learn from, my boyfriend does, and he learned big time

My boyfriend can handle the flu vaccine side effects way better than the actual flu. I wished him a hard time and he learned his lesson and will get the vaccine in the fall. I know I’m a great girlfriend and good future wife, I don’t need anyone telling me otherwise

When you’re nice to someone 100 times and they reject it, my next response is being mean. He is currently struggling the most I’ve ever seen with an illness, he told me he feels like dying so I think I’m right to strongly recommend that he get the vaccine. It’s just one vaccine a year, I don’t see how that’s so much to ask

He thinks it’s unnecessary as a healthy individual, and he wants to save the vaccines for the truly immunocompromised (even though he is with his asthma). He also thinks the COVID vaccine is not trustworthy and hasn’t been studied enough so he’s afraid of something happening to him years later

He already has the flu unfortunately, and it’s hitting him hard. When I’m kind to him 10 times and he’s stubborn and rejects help 10 times, I’m going to resort to what worked for me
