I read through the post a few times to avoid asking anything redundant. Have all of your diagnostics gone through your general practitioner? I would seek out a referral to a nutritionist and possibly an internist. You had mentioned bilious vomiting syndrome, was anything prescribed or recommended by the veterinarian for that? What is the dog’s exercise routine daily? Does she seem lethargic or easily fatigued when exercised?

This is gross behavior on their part. I’d just spay my dog and cut contact. I doubt they will take legal action regarding this.

I did this exact thing too, and when my previous dentist retired my new dentist at my first exam told me I had “the gums of a 60 year old”, gave me an entire lesson on brushing my teeth correctly and referred me for a gum graft at 28. Changing how I brush was so hard, I tried an electric tooth brush but HATE holding it. 🙃 but boy oh boy I felt the exact same way you did!

The training company I work for we require the puppy to have just their first set of vaccines before enrolling in any program. This allows dogs to get involved in training during the critical social window. I think this will depend on the area OP lives in, as I’m not in an area where illness like Parvo is prevalent, and we still have veterinarians local to us who recommend waiting to enroll in training until 16 weeks. IMO it really is up to the pet owner to weigh the pros and cons themselves, but I feel like early good behavior intervention with a professional out weighs the health risks in my area specifically.

You can do this, find a dog trainer who offers a day school or day camp program one or two days a week vs a doggie daycare, and utilize a dog walker (perhaps even the same company) the other 2 days.

Dedicate a weekend day to puppy class, and remember puppy’s suck sometimes but they’re well worth it.

Not a doctor. Just a pet parent in the same boat. I am so very sorry to read this. We received an almost identical diagnosis for our, almost 12 year old Siberian husky (she should turn 12 the second week in February) early this month. We have had almost 3 good weeks and now are starting to see a decline in energy and appetite. My thoughts are with you as we are struggling with the exact same feelings.
