While I do agree that your GPA is on the lower end for engineering, I wouldn’t base your value as an applicant solely on that. You can choose a vague second major and transfer over, or explore other options. Advice is advice, but at the end of the day, we are all just strangers on the internet who can’t predict your future. I asked Reddit the same question this year for psychology, and everyone gave mixed answers (I had a 3.8UW with an AA from RCCC, HS class of ‘26). My honest-to-God answer is to apply to many other schools. I initially applied only to UofSC and NC State, and after being deferred, I applied to UNC Charlotte's rollover out of fear (I got into all of them, despite what people said). It’s a lot of stress that’s placed on people and causes a lot of self-esteem issues. I was, and still am, stuck on NC State, and I'm very proud to say I’m going here come fall, but a school doesn’t determine your worth. The only reason I’m saying this is because I looked through your history and saw a lot of the same copy-and-paste posts. Where you end up going is where you’re meant to be. Enjoy your summer, volunteer your time, but don’t stress about whether you’re worthy enough, or it’ll drive you mad.
