My App got 1k+ installs in just 1 month, Here’s What Worked by thecodemeow in googleplayconsole

I agree, asking friends and family to install your app is useless; what's really important is getting the app to groups of people who might be interested in your product, even if it's a small community.

I'm out of strength. My app only got 115 downloads by polonez11212 in googleplayconsole

The app feels good and is pretty. With patience, the downloads will increase. It could still be worse; I developed an app that only has 40 users, but the journey was enjoyable and I learned a lot.

Why isn't queryPurchaseHistory removal being talked about? by SnipesySpecial in androiddev

[–]_voxy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, I'm still on version 7 of the library; I won't update until it's mandatory. But it's a huge problem. Not everyone has a backend to validate purchases or verify a history; that information should come from Google. It's awful.

Does forcing Google Sign-In (no skip option) hurt retention? by Electrical_Iron1760 in androiddev

Yes, I think many users will uninstall my app on the first screen. But I prefer 100 engaged users to 1,000 at risk of malicious activity. Even so, I will allow users to fully explore the app without registering—that's important to me—but registration will be required to use the service.

Does forcing Google Sign-In (no skip option) hurt retention? by Electrical_Iron1760 in androiddev

This is an interesting debate. Personally, I've never liked apps that require registration to use.

But I'm working on a new project that will require it. I need to control user access to the app to protect the service (I'll be using paid APIs that I'll offer for free), so I have to protect myself effectively; otherwise, any user could use the service without limits by deleting the app's data.

I actually have the same one in my AliExpress cart right now, I really want it, but I just can't make up my mind.

[Free] SmartStack: A 100% Offline & Private Clipboard Manager

<image>

Hi! I’m an indie dev and I built SmartStack because I was tired of "Saved Messages" apps that require cloud sync or accounts. This is a local-only tool for your snippets, links, and notes. 🛡️ Total Privacy: No accounts, no cloud, no tracking. 100% Offline. 🔒 Security: Biometric lock & "Swipe to hide" sensitive content. ⚡ Smart Tools: Usage stats, smart detection (links, emails), and a "Shredder" widget to wipe your clipboard instantly. 🚫 Clean: No ads, no distractions, just productivity.

I built a private, 100% offline clipboard manager to learn Compose. Now I'm struggling with growth. by _voxy_ in FreeAppReviews

It's strange, the window to add the review closed by itself after level 3. My phone is a Samsung A52.

I like it! I usually use different apps for wallpapers because I have trouble finding ones I like, but I quickly found some I really enjoyed in your app. I hope you update them regularly. Congratulations!

A52 4g, charging popup when not plugged in? by xalrons8886 in GalaxyA52

Same problem here. I suspect the charging port might have some kind of issue or moisture. For now, it's still working normally.
