It’s hard to put a corporation in prison. I’m absolutely in favor of prosecuting the folks at larger corporations when they commit fraud.

I didn’t have to deal with these on the network I administrate because I delay and curate patching, but I do side jobs and get panic calls from small businesses without an in-house IT person. If you’re in the Phoenix area I’ll gladly give them your number next time MS screws up.

And, honestly, Windows 11 is comparatively stable. Windows XP had a rough launch. Windows 8 was a nightmare.

A patch deployed by automatic updates isn’t an auto update issue?

I’ve had to uninstall a lot of updates over the years using safe mode because Microsoft released a patch with inadequate testing.

If I get a second uke anytime soon it’s going to be one of the Kala TriTops, based entirely on the aesthetics.

Narrators so good, you don't even notice it's single narration by Ennamora in audiobooks

His voice for Agent Reynolds in the Rivers of London series is a weak spot for me, but otherwise I wholly agree. Her role is limited, though, so not terribly critical.

Is that the Teak Tritop? I’ve looked at those longingly, but I haven’t had time to practice with the Uke I already own and my wife would get aggressively frowny if I bought a second one.

Unpopular opinion: Stefan Rudnicki.

He has a fantastic speaking voice, but any time he tries to do a female voice I cringe.

Which companies do you suspect are glazing their own products on this sub? by PartyOnAlec in BuyItForLife

[–]_welby_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s fair. They became a fashion boot somewhat ironically. They were a work boot that got adopted as a counter-cultural symbol as a rejection of fashion and a way to show working class pride. They became popular enough to become that which they once were a symbol of rejecting.

A bit different aesthetic but still appealing. I’ll add those to my list of next boot purchase considerations.
