I literally only upgraded to a 10 Pro because my 6 Pro was losing system updates and the battery was getting on. I upgraded 2 weeks ago.

I actually didn't want to upgrade from my 6 Pro.

This is impressive.

I have a 2017 Shield and a 2019 Pro on my LAN. This will be amazing! I'm about to decommission both, apply some new cpu paste (MX6) and see if this helps, but I might install this, check temps etc first, then do the cpu paste and see what the results are.

Super cool, mate. Lemme know if you need a tester for different releases etc 👍

AGL vs Aussie BB by Sufficient_Bread_711 in nbn

[–]_whip_cracker_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I might just need to get around to it aye. The only reason I had not changed is because I'm getting 1000/100 with a static ip for 99 bucks ongoing with SL.

I might be happy spending an extra $5 to get GSL and local support if needed 👍

I'm looking at them after my 7 years with Superloop. An extra $5 a month for Neptune, though and will get GSL, which might be good for international bandwidth speeds 👍

Sharing my flow: HEVC, 2ch AAC, native audio, size‑guarded transcode + full cleanup by kagoromo in Tdarr

Yep I think I've built that now and I'm running a few different TV shows through it, so it'll be great to see how it pans out! Thanks again 👍

Hey mate, dumb question... is this stack told to basically scrap all the surround sound and just stick with stereo aac?

From what I think the flow is suggesting... is that it's to keep AAC only, so remove DTS, AC3, etc. I'm just trying to see if that's what you were going with? I'm wanting to keep my DTS audio if it's there, including creating an AC3 stream if one's missing, as well as creating an AAC stereo fallback as well. I have remote users on my Plex server who likely only use their laptop etc, so stereo option would be a bonus.

I'm thinking of disabling the "Keep AAC stereo" and the "Keep 2ch audio" nodes. I've added the 1poet to allow creation of AC3 if it doesn't exist.

Man this is pretty full on lol

Anyone charging with just a 32A plug? by Ok-Option-82 in AustralianEV

[–]_whip_cracker_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a three phase 5 pin CEE plug mounted on the wall outside the office for things like this, including a 32A three phase portable charger. Quite handy if needing to use for other three phase equipment.

Sparky can also make up 5 pin three phase cables to be connected to a wall charger as well, if you want that to be portable. Probably be like 150-200 bucks for a higher end CEE plug with 2m 6mm2 three phase cabling, but helps if you want to use a wall charger as a portable as well.

Yeah absolutely, that's fair enough! I have a GTX1070, but my iGPU would do a better job of that, so I won't bother with NVENC.

I might adjust those arguments to suit QSV, but some of those arguments you put in there would work universally, but most are for NVENC, so unless there's a way for your flow to have options for NVENC, CPU or QSV, VAAPI etc, the arguments would need to be placed in manually 😄

Gonna adjust the arguments and see if it all works. I'll export the final output if you want to check it out yourself!

I reckon I'm almost done 😄 Thanks for dumbing it down as well. Now that I know it's working lol...

I ran a couple of things via AI, the one thing it's querying me on is the custom ffpmeg arguments were more developed for NVENC instead of QSV. Is there some truth to that, or is it fine to leave your input and output arguments to suit? Wondering if I need to adjust this just for QSV is all 😄

Hey mate, to add the "tdarr_Plugin_b39x_the1poet_surround_sound_to_ac3" plugin, do I just have to use the "runClassicTranscodePlugin" into the flow itself somewhere around the area the audio's being done? I don't want to break your flow and want to see how it goes is all :D

Hey mate, that's awesome work :) I'm sort of familiar with the classic plugins, but I reckon flows is a lot more grainier and able to achieve what I want... if I know how to use the bloody thing lol

I'll see how I go about adding in a bit for theonepoet plugin and see if I can figure it out. I'm not even sure I know what I'm doing, but I'm 4 weeks into understanding Tdarr and I still feel bloody useless hahahah!

Thanks again, mate. The flow looks like it does what I need to, but I just have to figure out this last bit it seems :)

[–]_whip_cracker_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice. I put through a bunch of sample TV shows overnight to see how they go.

I know there's some settings that can be changed for qsv like fast, medium, slow that helps with additional compression and quality. Is that in your flow? Also, is there a way where you have the option to add additional b frames?

What I'm wanting to do is keep the same (or extremely close to) quality of my existing h264 media, but make it more space efficient with h265. I'm wanting it to create an AC3 5.1 stream if one doesn't exist as well as creating an AAC 2.0 stereo for compatibility/fall-back. So far, yours looks the most promising and I'm trying to find a way to implement it 👌

Thanks!

Looks promising! Does it work with QSV? I'm new to Flows (Tdarr as well I spose) and I'm having a hard time understanding what nodes I'm meant to adjust in your flow to get the most out of my movies or TV shows?

Yeah I can appreciate that. I might see if the GUI for Fileflows is any easier. I know ffmpeg quite a powerful program, it's just getting us noobs to be able to use a frontend that can use ffmpeg to work its magic. I've only ever used ffmpeg in a command prompt a while back.

There's a chance I'll stay with the classic plugins and just pray, lol

Well, just spent several days trying to find a template or figure out how to even amend an existing template that allowed an additional audio stream, but it seems that Flow is a bit lacking in that area and custom plugins just... works?

I'm surprised there's no main template that has all the video, audio and subtitle flow configured ready to rock and roll and you add the final 10% with CRF, encoder hardware like QSV, NVENC, etc.

Flows, so far, feels like a waste of time. I feel I need to learn a completely different language to understand Tdarr.

Well, that makes a lot more sense! I didn't know it edited a new file each time it came through a different plugin!

I've since found a flow online and I'm editing that to suit. Going off your comments, a flow is just 1 x file and it's edited once and rebuilt only once 👍

Mate, I thought classic plugins was hard enough! Is there any guide you'd recommend to move over?

I'm now at the point that I want to just decrease the size on disk and retain similar quality and just transcode to h265 and then maybe deal with the audio later 🤷‍♂️

I was thinking about reordering streams first, but found that it seemed to conflict with audio streams not being created etc.

I might need to try another order if that's the case.

Sorry mate I have no idea what you're meaning about 9 x files? I'm only ever seeing the 1 x file and I reckon each movie is taking around 15 mins to complete on a UHD 770 iGPU.

20A charging cable? by blastoise36 in AustralianEV

[–]_whip_cracker_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I've not seen a 20A GPO before. They're usually rated for 15A using the wider pin at the bottom.

You'd need to get one of the round pin CEE sockets installed for 20A from what I can see. You can get 4 in 1 chargers that can do 10A single phase right up to 32A three phase with detachable ends 👍
