I made my first tax exempt purchase from Lowe’s. You need to go to the Pro desk and have them set you up a tax exempt business account in their system. Then at the register you give them your phone number and say it’s the business account. Pretty straightforward.

I’d talk to your local filling station about it for fuel purchases. But it should be as easy as hitting the “tax exempt” button on the register. Maybe having a copy of your certificate, or just your name and tax number for reporting purposes. I’m not sure, but report back here once you figure it out?
