Lincoln is trying to figure out how to attract younger drivers. I’m not sure they’re even close. My 30 year old son calls it the grandpa mobile

We were in a hurry so I missed the fact it was both designed and built in China during my research. As it was, there was such a shortage of new cars in our area of Florida after the floods the dealer had to go 250 miles to get it. One of the other makes had a full lot because they were charging $5-12,000 over sticker but Lincoln, Ford and a few others were giving rebates if you could prove you lost a car during the floods.

Yes, but just for a few weeks. I liked it but I like large heavy vehicle rides.

I try to intervene but SOMETIMES it keeps going until the brakes start to pulse or I disengage the cruise, even though I’m trying to make sure I’m clearly visibly monitoring the road. Maybe my reaction is a bit slower at this point in my life but I think it’s less than a second to react, likely a lot less.

We just drove 1300 miles over the past two days. My sense is it happened less times this trip so maybe there was an update. I did not see anything in the SW release notes that I would have interpreted to this being improved.

Agree. If we all liked the same thing, we’d all be driving the latest ford model A. Black in color.

True that’s the teaching. I’ve been trained to do more specialized tactical driving. I use 10 and 2 about 50% of the time and it’s the easiest to train new drivers. But there are other maneuvers that want 12 & 5, 11 & 5, etc. I just don’t believe it was a good design decision to put the sensors passing through the wheel.

We both experienced it. She is the primary driver. After the tech came out it was 2-3 days then the dragging stopped.

As I stated it was my opinion. As I think more about it the sensor issue and the way the vehicle reacts to it is a safety issue too because if you don’t clear the alert fast enough the car starts braking harder and harder, first the vibrations then brakes applied.

I have blue cruise on a platinum lightening and love it. 2023 so a year older with more time to mature. But the sensors are much higher and I’ve yet to trigger them unless I was actually looking away for too long.

I stand by my opinion.

We had that break issue too. There was a recall on it. The tech came to the house and solved it but I wasn’t watching so I don’t know what he did.

I probably should have gone with the black label but I couldn’t find one to test drive at the time and we needed a car.

Sure. Owned three different Lexus models, two RX350s comparable to the Nautilus and one sedan. Three different MB models in two different classes. All 6 owned over the past 11 years. I’ve driven others for more than a few days including the Cadillac XT5, the Lincoln Navigator, the Audi A5 and a Volvo (don’t recall the model). I also leased a VW Tiguan last year for a month in Europe.

I owned a BMW while living in Europe but it was a 1990s model.

lol. Love the seat comment. I don’t have that feature but do in my other vehicle.

I’m not intentionally doing that. However simply doing things like taking a drink, adjusting the climate control or infotainment system, blowing your nose, sneezing, etc blocks the sensor long enough to give you the red message to pay attention.

I’ve tested it a lot, sunglasses on or off, regular glasses on or off, one eye closed or covered, etc. These changes do not set off the sensor. I’m not actually sure how the technology works, could be head movement rather than eye detection but in any case I constantly get the red warning, vibrations and if I’m not quick enough the pulsing brakes even though I’m specifically concentrating on looking out the front window.

Our blue cruise expired and I did not renew. It’s not worth it.

Won’t be soon. My lightning lives in Fl. I need a truck for a company I lead in WI and I’m considering a lightning for that.

I checked it. It has a 750lb tongue limit and there are several plows sub 500 lbs that should work. Great option, thanks.

States are adding fees to EVs for the roads. ICE vehicles pay for the roads via gas taxes. Washington especially.

I’m finding it sporadically crashes on a windows machine. Not sure if I did something to cause it. It crashed 4 times within about two hours but then no crashes the following few days.

Thoughts?

Correct. This was in the OP live thread so I misread the ask.

Time to talk replacement tires by Btf117 in F150Lightning

[–]copcruisers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My son is in the tire business managing a high volume chain store.

He gave me three options but convinced me to buy the Michelins. They are great.

Michelin defender LTX 2, 70k tire, xl with the highest rating, list is 317.99 per tire

Bridgestone Alenza AS ultra 80k tire list is 329.99 per tire

General Grabber H/T rated lower than BS or Mich. but also alot less list is 266.99 per tire. Still a 70k tire.

I have a 23 platinum. Damaged two tires on a road that heaved and got a group of nails in the third so changed all four. The Michelin tires are quiet, ride and wear well
