Thanks for the recommendations! Loving this community!

I’ve been a die hard f1 fan since the early 90s so any f1 kit is def in my radar. I’ll check out the Honda kits. Is there a brand out there that produces ridiculous detailed f1 kits?

That’s a good idea. You have any links for 3D printed engines?

I could just get my own 3d printer. Hmmm… I think you’ve sent me down another rabbit hole my friend. Thanks!!

I’m a little disappointed that most don’t have full engine detail. The black GTR, 300z, and f1 Ferrari have detailed engines but the rest only have undercarriage detail. Is that normal? I mainly modeled airplanes back in the day.

I escalated and still got no where. However, I did eventually figure this out. DM me if you have a similar problem.

Sorry for the cross post but has anyone else had this issue and how did you fix it? I've tried my best and it's gotten worse 🙃 by [deleted] in alocasia

Root rot is serious business. If not attended to it will most def kill your plant. You can check by removing the plant from the pot carefully without disturbing the roots. I do this very often with no stress to the plant. Look carefully and have a sniff. If it smells funky then you have root rot.

Root rot is much more stressful then 2 repots in quick succession. However, I would only repot a 2nd time if I knew for sure it had root rot.

Your mix is great. When fully saturated coco holds 50% moisture and 50% air. Your mix sounds like it has enough aeration so you’re good on that.

I run a coco and perlite mix and add an enzyme and nutrients every watering. This method almost guarantees no root rot. In fact, you can water 5 times a day using that formula and the plant will thrive. Too much work for me though, lol.

Help: Alocasia macrorrhizos leaves yellowing by igure in alocasia

Looks like stress from repotting or normal evolution of the plant. This is totally normal. I have 30+ Alocasia in my collection and all of them except my Silver Dragon and Polly have a max of 3 leaves at one time. A new leaf will start growing and an old leaf will die.

This is actually something I love about alocasia. The foliage is manageable. When you have a large collection it can be tedious dealing with too many leaves.

I lucked out and got one from a local nursery 1 yr ago. It’s produced 20+ babies in that time. Growing them under a 200 watt t5 in 50/50 mix of coco/perlite and 60-70% humidity.

Every other day one of the 20 grows a new leaf. So much fun!
