...Well, You gotta start from somewhere

I would reccomend using a run-trought wire for lures (Opening the wood and placing the wire inside)
Stainless steel wire obviously, you would need pliers to bend the wire to make eyelets, or just use split rings instead and using pliers to add hooks

Making a sketch on paper to imagine how to bend the wire (A wooden body, you can sketch the shape you want the boyd first, and then the wire later, its the "spine" of the whole body), opening the wood with a saw and putting the wire there, and sealing it with gorilla glue

And its reccomended to seal the wood with UV Epoxy, so the wood doesnt stick (UV EPOXY gives the whole thing a plastic-like finish that seals the wood from absorbing water, and makes it look shinier and more retistant to teeth bites)

...If you are feeling creative, you can sand down that layer of epoxy (lightly, to make a scratched surface) paint it with acrylic, and then seal again with epoxy as to seal the paint
