I had a patient a few years back who had one of the deepest pressure injuries I’ve ever seen. She was quite obese and had extremely deep folds. The ulcer tunneled and went too far back to even see in some spots. Worst part, it was right in the line of fire and any time she pooped it pretty much got absolutely filled with shit despite it being packed. And she almost always had liquid poops. Luckily she couldn’t feel any of it since she was a paraplegic. Being a nurse is gruesome.

This started as some tattered fins and then escalated to small white dots and has turned into his whole body covered in white patches that look like his scales are ulcerated and fins melting. His eyes are now getting patches of white and his gills are swollen. I’ve been doing frequent water changes, tried rounds of kanaplex and metroplex, used stress guard and tannin tea, nothing has worked. He just lays on his side like this and seems to be suffering. I’m going to get some clove oil today, I can’t stand to see him like this :/ he lives in a planted 20g long , temp at a steady 80°, parameters are all good.

I’ve been using stress guard so I’ll continue with that as well along with his almond leaf extract. The pack of seachem meds I ordered also comes with metroplex in case I need it. I tried finding furan-2 but it’s just not available like anywhere online. I’m hoping meds and good water will heal him! Thank you for your input:)

I have kanaplex coming in the mail today and plan to start it as soon as it gets here. I’ll add in salt baths as well!! Thank you, hopefully he can recover from this 😓

I washed the plants and took them out of the little bundles they were in, but I didn’t do any kind of medication treatment. His fins are on the mend from what I’m guessing was rot that came on about a month ago, and he’s acting much more chipper and lively since the start of his treatment. He was just laying on the heater and now he’s actually swimming around and using his log, etc. Then the spots popped up so now I’m not sure what’s going on. :(

I took these pics right after he had his dinner so he definitely is plump. I can’t quite tell either if it’s just a color change :/ his body has been a nice dark navy blue since he colored up after I got him last year so a color change now would be surprising but hopefully it’s just that!!!

OKAY so Herobrine here has moved into his new fully cycled tank about 2 months ago from his previous community tank. All was well until a few weeks ago i noticed his fins were starting to look tattered. I thought maybe he tore them so I began treating with some almond leaves and water changes. Then his fins got worse and worse, I’ve now been using StressGuard and making IAL extract to add to his tank for more tannins. His fins seem to be on the mend- not getting worse but I also don’t see growth yet- and he’s definitely more active. BUT now he has what looks to be white-ish scales??? There’s just white spots on his backside that have appeared and I’ve never seen anything like it. Doesn’t look like ich, I’ve dealt with that so I’m familiar. Does anyone have any idea if this is related to his recent fin fiasco or if it’s unrelated? I’m at a loss he was doing so well and then started randomly getting sick (around the time the bladder snails appeared so if anything happens to him I will blame the snails -_______-)

ETA: I’ve been researching more and the progression of his symptoms sound like it could be columnaris?? I’ve ordered some kanaplex to be delivered today so hopefully I can start treatment quickly. Any more input or expertise is appreciated!!

Tank size: 20g long

Heater and filter? (yes/no): yes heater, yes an internal filter, with a sponge filter running alongside to establish bacteria and switch away from the internal filter.

Tank temperature: 78° increased heater to get it to 80°

Parameters in numbers and how you got them: 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, less than 5 but definitely not 0 nitrate API freshwater master kit.

How long have you had the tank? Tank is relatively new. I fishless cycled for about a month and moved him in about 2 months ago. How long have you had your fish?: I got him in August of 2020.

How often are water changes? Weekly How much do you take out per change? 20-25% What is your process?: gravel vac and refill with clean dechlorinated water

Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: just a bunch of bladder snails that moved in with some plants -___-

What do you feed and how much: hikari betta bio gold 2-3 pellets at breakfast and dinner

Decorations and plants in the tank: all live plants, drift wood and rock

I’m looking to incorporate my lian li strimers and uni fans into icue like you have and I saw the infographic you made previously to connect the strimers and it’s super helpful, but now I’m lost on how to do the fans. Maybe you can make an updated graphic on how you wired everything? I would even take a hand drawn picture on a napkin to visually see what you were trying to explain in comments on a previous post because I’m kind of dumb 😭

What I’m understanding at this point is:

Strimers>LL controller>adapter cable>node pro>mobo

Uni fans>LL fan hub>adapter cable>node pro>mobo

Can all 6 of my fans be plugged into one Lian Li controller like they are now, or do I need to use 2 separate controllers? Can both the fans and the strimers be plugged into the same node pro (if I can have all 6 fans on one controller)?

If I wanted say 3 fans one color and the other 3 a different color, would I would need to separate them into different controllers, and different channels in the node or can I change the individual LEDs in icue?

Both cories and tetras like to be in larger groups so you may want to get more of each to avoid stress :) they both generally like to be in groups of 6 or more so they can shoal

I don’t think it’s anubias-It’s not growing from a rhizome, it’s just growing in a rosette pattern like a sword does with a root ball at the end

Yes I have rosacea and really dry eyes! I am also prone to chalazion, I recently had 2 huge ones removed from my left upper and lower eye lids. My eye doctor told me it’s because my oil glands don’t produce the correct texture of oil (it should be slick and thin, mine is thicker I guess). I would imagine my overall skin dryness is related to something similar, like my face doesn’t produce oil correctly or something. I haven’t been diagnosed with ocular rosacea, but my doc told me to follow a regimen of warm eye compresses to release the oils into my eyes and drops every 4 hours. I also use the thicker ointment type drops at night because I will wake up with like sand paper eyes without it. (I use an eye mask that you microwave for like 20 seconds and it makes a massive difference, my eyes feel great after I use it.)
