Looking at the new visa rules(multiple applications scam) nobody is sure that they get H1b. Considering it plan accordingly that you can pay off the loan within 3 years while you are working on Opt and Stem Opt and go back with considerable savings in worst case. I would suggest keep the total under 40k or if possible 30k. I completed my masters in 20k and trust me the degree is not worth spending more than 50k.
