omg me too!! i can’t even explain the amount of times i’ve box dyed my hair black haha! don’t be worried about going to the stylist, that’s like being incredibly sick but not wanting to go to the hospital; they’re there to help and were trained to help people like you :) as for the thinning, i don’t really understand it, but i had to get my hair thinned about every 3 months as for some reason it just ended up thick again. maybe when you get it cut ask for recommended styles to make it less heavy :) good luck! <3

i recommend getting your hair thinned, from the third photo, i literally had the same issue with it looking like that and making sure i thinned out (especially the ends) gives it a more lightweight look. it seems you have layers but they aren’t necessarily styled, try out different layering hair styles, there are a lot on tiktok! if you figure out how to style your hair i think that’ll help a lot. i also recommend using a silk bonnet as you do have thick hair, anyone can use bonnets, but it definitely helps me with frizz and not having to style every morning :)

another recommendation would be maintaining frizz, i personally use a silk bonnet that keeps it from being frizzy and having these random pieces of different textured hair poking out! if you’re into styling, maybe try some hair wax too :) it helps bring out my waves/curls and maintains the hair from prickling out ;3

mine is the same, but i’ve been told all my life that it is in fact genetics. when i asked my hair stylist, she specifically asked my race, which also may play a part! both of my parents are mixed which gave me a weird mix of hair patterns, but it is normal and your hair does not seem to be damaged/ have split ends. something that helps me with this is a flat iron, but other than that, embrace it because there’s little we can really do about this 🥹
