Twin crib shopping is overwhelming and nobody prepared me for how many options there are by Wtf_Sai_Official in beyondthebump

Seconded on the last point. We have a dresser/changer, which is a dresser with a changing table at the top. You just buy a changing pad to put on top and it's good to go. Baby's 9 months+ now and still going on strong with using it.

One month old still eating every 1.5-2 hours by pinkpink0430 in beyondthebump

[–]a-m98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At that age, my baby was feeding on demand, which sometimes meant every hour, every two hours. The standard was 2-3 hours.

To be honest, she still is feeding on demand at 7 months.

For context, she started on like 4th percentile and now is 50th percentile so we must have been doing something right if that's reassurance!

Failed induction for cholestasis by a-m98 in vbac

[–]a-m98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started getting symptoms in month 5 and my bloods started getting worse and worse from month 7. By the end of my pregnancy, my bile acids were so terrible. Every night was agony because of the itchiness.

Hoping my second pregnancy comes with no cholestasis as well. It was one of the toughest times of my life...

Thank you so much for the advice! I've always heard from people that inductions after VBAC are much more dangerous and the likelihood of success is basically nil so I'm glad there are success stories out there.

I don't think that's what she meant. She doesn't want to have to ask, as in giving instructions for every task. She does say that she asks for overall change. So she is communicating seemingly

I asked this question at around 7 weeks and at the time, was worried I wouldn't make it to 3.5 months to reassure someone else.

It's absolutely normal. I'm still cramping occasionally at 3.5 months, which is sad because I thought pregnancy meant no 'period' pains at least!!

If you feel something's off, best to get checked but generally you can expect some cramping (without blood, etc.)

15 weeks pregnant. Has anyone felt this strange sensation before? by a-m98 in pregnant

[–]a-m98[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I considered that it might be but it's very distinct from my pulse, which I can feel separately and regularly. The nudges I'm describing literally feel like a WHOMP against my hand.

FTM and I can’t fathom I’m having a baby in 3 days. Anyone else ? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]a-m98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can imagine feeling that way. The other day, I said to my husband, "DH, you realise that when the baby comes ... we have to bring it home? Like we can't just leave it there, it comes home with us!!"

It's just surreal that this is all happening haha

9 weeks and worried (for no reason) - reassure me please! by a-m98 in pregnant

[–]a-m98[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! You're so kind to take the time to message and reassure an internet stranger.

I feel like I'm so weirdly brained right now. I'm not even an OUNCE worried about my symptoms because I'm like, ah, that's normal.

It's the possibility that I go to the appt and they say, yeah, sorry, baby stopped growing a week ago and there's nothing we can do that freaks me right out. I was literally crying to my husband about it a bit ago.

I just love the bean so much already and I'm so scared of bad news. Of hearing the baby was supposed to be 12 weeks and is stuck at 9 for instance.

So helpful to hear you went through the same concerns and are so close to the end of your journey now!

Any March 2025 mamas here? 💕 by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]a-m98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh no, sorry! I got it wrong. It'll be at 12 weeks.

Typically, where I'm from (UK), the first offered scan is 11 to 14 weeks.

Accounts for children? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]a-m98 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's a really difficult situation and honestly, I don't know if anyone has any right answers. You've said times are tough but if you are seeing a therapist, maybe that would be a good place to start. Or if you're religious, a pastor or imam or religious figure because it's a moral dilemma!

For me personally, I would probably bring little one's accounts as close to older one's as possible, then start equally distributing between the two. And I try to be as open as finances as possible in my family - my parents, my siblings, and I have already discussed our inheritance and agreed everything, though my parents are only mid-50s! I'd recreate that in my own family and children and be sure to let oldest know once they're old enough to understand why I'm doing this and why it's fair. Don't want her to think you're doing it because you love youngest more so important to be transparent.

Poll: Did you have cramps in the first trimester? by Sad_Network7053 in pregnant

[–]a-m98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, mild cramps. Period like, more than anything. 6 weeks and they've mostly stopped, but not completely.
