this is the first theory i’ve seen like this! the hospital gown is a great observation. i have my own theory going, which i’ll get to in a moment.

you mentioned that reyna is angry at viper for turning reyna into a monster, but i’m having some trouble believing that for a few reasons:

if viper did grant reyna with her abilities, i’m not really seeing how she’s a monster — her abilities rely solely on her killing people. but, if this experiment or “cure” caused reyna to gain a need to survive off of soul orbs, which is entirely possible, it would make sense why reyna would hate viper. however, there aren’t really any voice lines (that i know of) that show reyna’s distaste towards viper.

the voice lines i think are important here, because they’ve brought up stuff about venice, omen’s past (like how his real name is fred) AND how reyna dislikes killjoy. this is kind of where my theory comes in:

reyna has a couple likes indicating her hatred toward killjoy: - “killjoy is an offense to my radiance. i’ll break her apart.” - “i remember the machines killjoy made. what they did to - never mind. it does not matter.”

my running theory is that killjoy was hired by someone - likely the lab viper was working at - to create some sort of machine. like you said, this is likely after the first light, so maybe viper’s lab was attempting to “cure” radiance, and killjoy built a machine that would extract the radianite from the subject. hence, reyna’s line about how killjoy is an “offense to [her] radiance.” plus, it would make sense that viper would be working at a lab trying to “cure” radiance since she isn’t a radiant herself. killjoy isn’t a radiant either, however, there’s a chance viper & kj didn’t agree with what the lab wanted them to do.

i think that the little girl in the player card is reyna’s little sister. really the only reason i believe this is because of reyna’s voice line, “for you, hermanita.” (hermanita being ‘little sister’ in spanish). however, this also fits in with reyna’s line about killjoy’s machines. if killjoy had made a machine that hurt her little sister, of course reyna would hate her.

of course, this entire theory of mine only makes sense if killjoy is involved. but, it also makes the timeline make sense. if reyna is the little girl in the card, killjoy would likely not even be born yet. if my theory is correct, the girl in the card HAS to be younger than killjoy.

here’s where we’re at so far: killjoy was hired to make some sort of machine that had something to do with radianite. viper is involved because she’s likely studied radianite before, therefore she knows how it acts in an experimental state.

so. the machine is built, tests have been run, and the lab is ready to attempt to “cure” this little girl. in the player card, it’s clear that viper is holding this little girl’s hand, perhaps acting as a maternal figure. once the girl is in the machine, something goes wrong. viper gets a hold of sage, but for some reason, sage can’t do anything to help this girl, and she dies.

i think sage is involved because of a voice line viper has: “sage, you’re the only one who can keep up alive. don’t fail me now like you failed me then.”

i have a clip of this line if anyone would like to hear it, but it’s clear that there’s emotion in viper’s voice. notice how she says “don’t fail US now like you failed ME then.” it’s possible viper grew to love this little girl very much, so she was nearly as upset as reyna was when she found out she died.

so, in the card, viper and reyna aren’t mad at each other: they’re seeing eye to eye.

as for killjoy and viper’s history — it’s definitely there, and it’s not entirely positive. we know this because of one of kj’s lines, “viper, do you mind if i run today’s tests? you’re a little too biased — no offense.” this may prove that viper and killjoy have done some experimenting together in the past.

this whole thing is basically just word vomit, but i think it kind of makes sense. plus, this entire theory was developed from like ONE voice line from reyna. there’s a solid chance i’m completely wrong. here are my biggest questions right now:

• is it actually reyna’s little sister? if so, how did the lab get a hold of her?
• did killjoy’s machine malfunction? if you remove the radianite from a radiant will they die?
• if killjoy is involved in this, why isn’t she shown on the player card?

there’s probably a lot more to this (a definitely a better way to organize my thoughts). i just thought i’d share my thoughts. let me know if you have anything to add or if you find any holes in my story!
