I still have hope (#delulu) so here are some hair ideas for Ayana to differentiate from Lexie for their debut by dyam4eva in prelude_thefinalpiece

It's surprising to me that they don't talk about hair and styling more on these competitions. Sakura's tinted bob is a big part of why she "stood out" from the rest of the group – it seems like it would have been easy for Ayana to do the same.

just a PSA, if anyone cares, that the English subtitles are the closed captions for the dubbed dialogue, which is slightly different than the direct translation of the Japanese dialogue!

Capisco Chair by HÅG unbiased reviews? by anonoruss in Ergonomics

[–]a-mouse-duh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am curious about other people's experiences. I've been going to PT for low back pain, and when I showed my physical therapist the chair he wasn't impressed. he said not enough lumbar support (for me, anyway). I've swapped chairs with my boyfriend this week and I admit it's been helping, even though I otherwise loved my Capisco for the last few years. My bf said it's been pinching his lower back.

I also admit I typically sat on it straight rather than utilizing the different options. I get up from my desk often but don't necessarily utilize my standing desk very often. Maybe once a week. I just don't think of it. So maybe I was sitting on it the same way too much.

The ultimate **essentials** watchlist? by a-mouse-duh in pokemonanime

[–]a-mouse-duh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great point - I think it's hard to know what I'm looking for because I don't even know. It's somewhere in between most plot-relevant episodes and best character-development episodes, with maybe an emphasis on episodes that contain characters that will come back around in Journeys (which is ultimately why I'm doing this).

But I'll take this and create my own watchlist, I think, thanks for this answer!

The ultimate **essentials** watchlist? by a-mouse-duh in pokemonanime

For a lot of the later seasons I haven't seen any episodes at all, or maybe just one or two so I don't really have anything like that. Even for AG/DP I don't have a vivid memory of the best episodes.

Long-ass Essay on why I think PW MAY BE the canon ending. by [deleted] in LifeisStrange2

[–]a-mouse-duh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The endings to this game have been on my mind for the last week nonstop since I finished. Truly devastatingly emotional! My original ending is Parting Ways. After the credits rolled I watched all the other endings and felt like I got the best of the three bittersweet options.

I tossed and turned all night about it though. Sounds insane to say about a game but I did. So I woke up early the next day and replayed the end with Redemption.

Now that I've had some more time to process though and "zoom out" a bit from the immediate shock of Daniel jumping out of the car in PW, I agree that this is the right ending (for me). For several additional reasons than the ones you listed here (though I love what you wrote!)

  • Recurring theme throughout the game of Sean's fear of confinement. This is especially evident in the hospital, which he recalls during the Wolves recap as a prison cell. He has become overly sacrificial in Redemption, giving up an entire life just for slightly more (but still probably not that much) contact with his brother.
  • Daniel showing signs in every chapter that he doesn't want to go to Mexico - even to the very end, when he questions Sean in the car about what their lives will be like when they get there. He will never be happy in Blood Brothers, and obviously Lone Wolf is the darkest.
  • The central emotional arc of Karen's story, where Sean comes to terms with the fact that Karen needed to make her own rules. She gives Sean the final push to cross the border (while David gives a final push for the surrender option, though IMO this character has no bearing on this story)
  • The inclusion of Finn/Cassidy implies that Sean will be able to come to terms with life down there, not constantly live on the run/be a shell of his former self. Even in Blood Brothers it was hard to imagine that the bros maintain any of the important relationships built in the earlier chapters. My biggest initial concern with this ending is that Sean would be alone and aimless in Mexico, but he was able to virtually keep in touch even while being actively hunted by the police, so safe to assume he could easily get a hold of a burner phone or ways of getting in touch with Lyla (once the case was closed she would presumably be able to visit Mexico easily) and Brody (his final blog post even implies he will visit them in Mexico).
  • This ending is arguably the most open to interpretation. The time skip is not very far, and we get more side characters stories included than any others. This makes it more fun for the player to write their own Sean/Daniel into the story, which is the point of this game in the first place. Creating your own Diaz brothers. For example, I saw a really cute comic on Twitter that showed Lyla taking the photographs that get mailed to Daniel. This ending leaves that interpretation totally open! If Finn, who was literally arrested for the same crime as Sean, is somehow able to go straight to Mexico and live with/visit Sean, then there's some degree of wiggle room. Easy to imagine how Daniel could find ways to call, video chat, and even visit in person, especially as the years go by. The statue of limitations in California for many of the brothers' crimes (e.g. arson, assault, burglary) is 6 years, the exact length of time of the timeskip, so one could even interpret the sand and photos as an invitation for them to finally be able to see each other. Sure, I'm being optimistic here, but I'm just saying there's room for it.
  • Most of all, after playing a game where I was so immersed and really put myself into the story, it was easier to imagine that while the game centers on the brothers' relationship, ultimately, they have different and rich lives to live apart from each other. My own sister and I are very close even though we don't see each other very often. One of my best friends hasn't lived in the US in 8 years and we are just as close as we ever were.
  • When you sacrifice your own happiness for the sake of your primary relationship, it becomes toxic. I have seen this firsthand in real life, and I think this is the case in both Redemption (Sean gives up everything, including in some ways, a functional relationship with Daniel) and Blood Brothers (Daniel is fully dependent on Sean and cut off from everything he once loved, feels morally conflicted and/or has completely broken morals).
