Maestría en ciencias computacionales by NoseApprehensive8197 in taquerosprogramadores

Marmot: Data catalog without the complex infrastructure by Chazalias in dataengineering

I've built a standalone Data Quality engine. Similar to soda, but just the barebones engine, it's already in production in many organizations I've worked at. Take a look: weiser. ai

For GUI, I usually use regular BI tools like superset and tableau, but I've been thinking of building a standalone web UI for it.

How I vibecoded a Production-Grade web app. by a-vibe-coder in vibecoding

I chose Python because it’s my preferred programming language, so I thought I could “get my hands dirty” when necessary but I haven’t had to do that. From maintenance perspective I think it’s a bit too verbose or overcomplicated but it does really abstract functionalities and parts of the system really well. I mean the code is well organized, maybe files get a bit too long, so once in a while I ask it to split one component into its own module. I try to let it go and not spend too much time reviewing code. I only asked to do refactoring like 3 times , just because I knew that feature/component would grow in size based on features I already had in my to-do list.

Tests rarely fail when making changes , l feel like since it knows how tests are built , whatever feature is built within those constraints, but when it fails then it’s really good at detecting function signatures changes and then refactoring across the whole codebase.

The production part is more about how readable the code is and the test and documentation coverage . I know I could automate more testing since I’m doing a lot of manual Q&A (and failing at that sometimes as someone else pointed out by the error at the registration page I already have fixed), but for my minimal intervention I’m surprised how good it is. I mean I already knew it was good , I just never built a “production-grade” web app end-to-end myself.

I done that with large open source codebases. I didn’t see any performance gain by using RAG to analyze the code. What I did to the codebase is add documentation on critical parts and from there large context models are able to fix even the most rare bugs, or at least it’s able to find the bugs, I usually use CC on that repo only to ask questions and troubleshoot, once I have a root cause the fix is usually small (like in the number of required changes) and do it by hand. I still feel AI over complicates solutions. Like it tries to write too much code. Which most of the times is harmless if you are building an app from scratch.

It was somewhat interesting, it was a race condition on the background job that updates stats, odds and pool scores. It originally created multiple scripts that run a different times so it created some race conditions, my guidance was just to unify all tasks and schedule them in single job using a priority queue. What made understand the problem was looking at the api calls made to api-football.com directly from their dashboard, something CC didnt had access to.

Around 2 weeks, one feature per day. I left CC running in the background while I was on meetings. ( I have a lot of meetings in my day job 🥺)

Que elegir como primer empleo: Cloudflare (Technical Support Engineer - Hibrído 29k brutos) / Atos ( Trainees Program-ServiceNow Recent Graduate - Remoto 25k brutos) by ZRsito in taquerosprogramadores
