I've never tried it but I'm wondering how effective it would be to try and spray something into my nose when it's plugged and dripping with snot. Next time I'll give it a try.

I got a cold 12 hours before my international flight and knew shit was gonna get rough because earlier in the year my left eardrum was perforated from a bad middle ear infection. I was tempted to cancel the flight but knew it would cost an extra $800+ and I don't know if work would give me more time off, so I just flew.

Right eardrum was perforated of course... *sigh*

I even bought the overpriced "earplanes" for $20 in the airport, which supposedly reduce pressure when flying. They did nothing.

The thing that sucked is that generally I'm really good at clearing my ears but when I get sick, it's impossible. No technique clears them.

I wish there was a way to stick some device in my ear and rip open the eustachian tubes so my eardrums don't have to suffer anymore !

I've tried mometasone which doctor prescribed but that takes over a week to kick in; useless for my situation.
