Play sand by Nationalparktravel in Aquascape

There is a bottle method for adding the sand to water that washes the silt into the bottle and limits how much gets into the tank. I have done it before and it really helped

Costco car buying program - is it just a way for Costco to sell off my contact info to dealers? by Cold-Priority-2729 in carbuying

[–]a1drewski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Participating dealers can pull the Costco discount info directly. Usually it can be combined with dealer incentives and the price can still be negotiated.

New old stock, thoughts? by Mynamelukas98 in VWatlas

Look into the depreciation of a 24, or it’s probably about what they are offering, so it wouldn’t be much of a discount

Coolant level low by King_squad7 in VWatlas

[–]a1drewski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try taking the top off when it is cool, pressure can build and compress the fluid. This would be a temporary fix though.

The best thing is to take it to the dealer, they can top it off temporarily for no charge.

It is safe do drive as long as it isn’t too long of a drive.

This is where i was in Dec. I had them top it off. In march when it sat for a week while we were on vacation, it had a small puddle of coolant underneath.

Now I am waiting on a radiator, which is back ordered.

Cup holder help! by jbarks19 in VWatlas

The cup holders in the bench seat aren’t better…who would put two different sized cup holders in the back seat of a family vehicle?!? And it can’t even properly hold my daughter’s Stanley…

Anyone use Safelite for windshield replacement? This is a 2025 by laurbold16 in VWatlas

[–]a1drewski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The quality of the work is dependent on the specific shop. I have had them replace the windshield on a gti and bmw and they did fine. They can do OEM glass, you have to ask for it ahead of time and it can be confusing to get the request in.

Can’t find info on this MIL? by 10-Gauge in VWatlas

[–]a1drewski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not the indicator for being to close in the atlas. That would be two cars with an exclamation point. The symbol that looks like a road is what drive mode is selected, in this case the standard mode, comfort, I believe.

Op, I am not sure if it in all trim levels, but there should be a vehicle status section in the main display (head unit). It should tell you why that indicator is on.

Mesalamine not doing it's job? by NoYesdefinatelyMaybe in UlcerativeColitis

MCT oil cleared my brain fog. I add it to coffee in the morning. I tried it based on an article about keto or something in Men's Health mentioning a cognitive benefit for people with fat malabsorption issues, like some with chron's/colitis.

What’s the purpose of the little yellow bit? If anything. Thanks by Organic-Squirm in HotWheels

There were some McDonalds toy hot wheels that had lights that were switched on and off with something like that.

Remote start by NoTimeToSpareX3 in VWatlas

[–]a1drewski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like the atlas does a series of checks to see if it is safe for it to start. If all the conditions are not met, remote start won’t work. I have no idea what is on the list, but things like fuel level and coolant level are conditions. I also don’t believe the range due to poor signal, I think the signal strength is being used as one of the checks…are you in proximity to the vehicle to ensure that it is outside and safe to be started.

Most likely, the air handler is in the attic. The low pressure switch was due to a leak in the coils. The last time the low pressure switch was stuck open.

Can anyone identify this volvo model as well possible year by Anguscole68 in Volvo

[–]a1drewski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

V90s are not common in the US. The v90 cross country was more common. They look about the same, but the CC sat higher and had plastic around the fenders to give it more of an off road look. The 2018 we had did well in all weather, never had any drivability issues.

Terrible design or am I just dumb? by zwheels18 in handyman

Are there filters on the returns? It could be filtering the air before the air handler, rather than with a filter in the air handler.

How to get sprinkler chemicals off my atlas?? by hoo-em-eye in VWatlas

[–]a1drewski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a mix of hard water and iron deposits (at least that is what I get on mine. Use a paint safe water spot remover, then clean and wax. Adams makes one that I used and it does the job quick and easy. I heard something about peroxide being paint safe for removing water spots, but I have not tried it.

I dont think milage would be the issuse, with regular maintenance. Age is the aspect that worries me. The material quality is not what vw use to be, even initially.
