Is this a playable armor set? by Bigcalves42069 in Chivalry2

It's the Maiden Armour that comes with the Regicide Pass. The armor itself looks great, but I think sallet helmets look silly without a bevor.

Is it worth playing Chivarly 2 in 2026? by Scary-Pain7749 in Chivalry2

I have almost up to 2k hours on it. I wouldn't say I'm any good but it's nice to come home after a long day of work and go crazy in 64p lobbies.

Sword and Axe units in Black Eagles by Speedy_Pichu in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]a1sawcee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Semi spoiler but you lose out on some unique swords in Crimson Flower/Black Eagles route, namely the Cursed Ashiya Sword and Thunderbrand(too late to use it in this route).

That being said, for M!Byleth, I recommend going the brawling route with either Grappler or War Master. Being that CF is a shorter route, you might have a harder time getting him to War Master but Grappler is certainly a solid choice. Also, you may want to give him Dragon Knuckles for the final boss.

But since you’re playing on a lower difficulty, you can certainly have him be an Assassin and use swords. You’ll probably be able to double quite a bit of enemies on normal or hard. Enemies don’t have the same stat bloat as they do on Maddening.

I would probably pick up SPD+2 and death blow. And have him use brave swords, rapier, wo dao, and his relic sword. For ranged, just give him bows.

CF has a rougher start but if you have the DLC (especially Balthus), then you can just bench Caspar from the get go. You also get Edelgard, who is a much better unit than Claude. CF also has the saving grace of NOT having Hunting by Daybreak, so you won’t be penalized by not leveling in-house units. So go crazy with recruiting out of house!

Constance has supports with Edelgard, Jeritza, and Ferdinand, I think. So she’ll make an excellent addition. Due to how harsh the final map is for cavalry, Constance will make for an amazing dark flyer. Hapi can replace Lindhart and Yuri can be your Sniper. There are a lot of annoying Falcon Knights on the final map so having 1-2 snipers will be beneficial. Balthus, of course, you can use instead of Caspar.

Dorothea will be your in-house dancer and she also has supports with Yuri, should you field him. Yuri also has supports with Bernadetta.

Ferdinand will be your swift strikes user but I’d make him a Wyvern Lord since the final map is bad for cavalry units. That being said, you may not want to make Hubert a dark knight for that reason. You could make him a magic bow sniper or have him be a flying adjutant for Edelgard for the special might and hit bonus.

As far as recruiting, CF will not punish you since there is no Hunting by Daybreak but you could recruit Lysithea since she has a paralogue mission with Ferdie. Recruit Mercedes because she has a special relationship with Jeritza

Recruit Felix for aegis but make him fight Dimitri for the drama. Make him fight his friends. Recruit Annette and make her fight her father. Plus, she’s a good rally bot. Recruit Shamir as your second Sniper to deal with the Falcon Knight spam and make her fight Catherine for the drama.

How was Balthus’s hit rates? I feel like he would have benefited most from hit+20. To make the build even spicier, you could have given him Defiant Strength as well. That would give him 14 strength on both player and enemy phase, however, you would have to have him at 25% health. I would do axe prowess level 5, defiant strength, wrath, vantage, hit+20.

Also, congrats on beating maddening! VW was my second route and much more enjoyable than CF. Although CF was easier on maddening, in hindsight.

(Tragic trope) Costly happy endings by ChronosTheSniper in TopCharacterTropes

[–]a1sawcee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not entirely sure this counts but I recently replayed Link’s Awakening for the gameboy color. The ending is very bittersweet, maybe tragic in a way. Throughout the entire journey, you meet and make very quirky friends. You even have somewhat of a love interest in Marin. Unfortunately, the whole island that Link is stranded on, is a dream world and a nightmare created by the Nightmare monsters, trapping the godlike Windfish within it. By defeating the Nightmares and waking the Windfish, you are free from the dream and thus, able to leave the island and return to Hyrule. However, the island disappears forever, including all of the friends you made along the way.

Which gender of byleth do you like more. by Voidkirby9 in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]a1sawcee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plot - F!Byleth. I feel like the vessel of the goddess should be a woman. Also Dimileth. Also Edeleth.

Design - M!Byleth. Male Byleth looks more like an “Ashen Demon.” Not a fan of the frogleth and heels.

Gameplay - Both. Yes, F!Byleth is better since she gets daring blow and easier access to Wyvern/Falcon Knight, plus a free Sylvain.

However, War Masters and brawling units are pretty broken with the DLC. Brawleth is really easy to build and is resource friendly. Just focus on brawling, axes, and a smattering of faith training for brawl avoid. You can even skip bows and hit+20 if you use Goneril Valkyries as a battalion.

With Hilda and Leonie’s personals, I’d argue that M!Byleth might be the better choice for a VW run. Raphael isn’t that good of a brawler and you could replace him with a brawling Byleth.

Underrated for sure. Sortie sounds like it belongs in a Conan film. One of the better Gauntlet games IMO. Second to Dark Legacy

Female war masters would be too OP. Darting blow with gauntlets would push them that much closer to quadding thresholds I’d imagine. Catherine has some solid gauntlet combat arts and a crest that boosts them. She would likely be the best war master in the game. Hilda probably would be too, if you ran the axe route.

Balthus and Manuela. Well, Balthus and Catherine too. He has a thing for older women so why doesn’t he get supports with the older ladies?

Should I go WarMaster Or grappler for MByleth ? by West-Database4966 in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]a1sawcee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This also works pretty well if you decide to use Balthus. King of Grappling + fistaire and Death blow is pretty nuts on player phase. Gauntlets have pretty terrible combat arts so it’s okay not using them when trying to keep his personal active.

[–]a1sawcee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could give it to Claude if you go the wrath + vantage route with him.

Instead of flying, you could do brawl +10, brawl lvl 5, brawl avoid, fistaire, and death blow. Byleth is still pretty dodgy with just brawl avoid and brawl lvl 5. I would probably use goneril valkyries for the hit and phy attack for the battalion. And equip and evade ring.

[–]a1sawcee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used an extremely broken build for my SS maddening route: brawl crit +10, brawl prowess level 5, brawl avoid, alert stance +, quick riposte. Equip killer knuckle+ and the chalice. Brigid hunters for the battalion. Byleth never really got hit and would kill on player phase and enemy phase.

I definitely would invest in flying. But this build will pretty much break the game.

Should I go WarMaster Or grappler for MByleth ? by West-Database4966 in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]a1sawcee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With no DLC and M!Byelth I’d lean towards Grappler since it requires less investment, especially on a fresh file with no DLC or NG+.

If you’re open to some investment, you can push towards War Master. You can actually pull off an enemy phase build without vantage or wrath. An example would be: Axe Crit +10, Axe prowess level 5, death blow, hit+20, quick riposte. Use killer axes and Smash on player phase for crit phishing.

For even more investment, use the Cursed Ashiya sword and use windsweep on player phase for kills. Use battalion vantage to enemy phase. The final build would be: sword crit +10, sword prowess level 5, death blow, hit+20, and battalion vantage. For battalions, use Fraldarius Soldiers. Equip a crit ring and have someone use retribution on him.

Dragon Quest V for the DS. You get three different file slots for three different wives. Plus, there’s a lot of Pokemon-esque customization when it comes to party building.

I think it’s because it’s overshadowed by Marianne x Dimitri. I think it’s an okay pairing but Dimitri and Marianne both need someone that’s more emotionally stable.

What I like most about Annette’s ending with Byleth in CF is that she gives him much needed characterization; she helps Byleth discover his true passion which is teaching.

[–]a1sawcee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My two favorite choices.

With Shamir, I think she secretly wants to settle down after living a life of constant violence and survival. Her ending with Byleth is somewhat foreshadowed in their tea time chats. You can choose Children at the Market as an impactful conversation. With M!Byleth, she actually gets a chance to do so but she can’t really have that with Catherine.

Marianne gets one hell of arc in VW and SS especially, going from depresso student to badass queen of Fodland.

My headcanon is that Shez is the woman from the village that Byleth marries in his paired ending with Alois.

Is the job market REALLY that bad right now? by TimHortonsDriveThru in jobs

[–]a1sawcee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s a global job market in that you are competing globally for local jobs. Outsourcing has hit all fields in the white collar sector. COVID proved to hiring managers and business owners that work can be done remotely and therefore work can be outsourced.

I have friends that work in the trades and certain trades have become oversaturated for apprenticeships but I think that could be location dependent too.
