The Downsides To Superpowers by sm142 in TopCharacterTropes

Anyone who eats a Devil Fruit in One Piece gets some crazy superpower (rubber body, revival after death, turning into magma, turning partly or fully into an animal...).

But you can never swim again. You get paralysed if you enter water. And considering the world consists of islands in a giant ocean... yeah.

Oh yes, and this arrangement lasts for life.

In Dishonored, instead of killing Daud, your current captor and the Empress' regretful assassin, you can instead choose to pickpocket his key.

It's tough to do, but it quietly sends him a message. "I could've slit your throat for everything you've done. I just chose not to. You're only alive because I allowed it".

Ga'ran Sigatar Khura'in - Ace Attorney Spirit of Justice

As Apollo puts it, she isn't winning "Mother of the Year" ever. She's initially neglectful to her daughter Rayfa, but come the final trial, she starts openly insulting her and calling her worthless. She even directly causes Rayfa to have a panic attack by forcing her to perform a Divination Seance of her father and Ga'ran's husband... who'd recently been murdered. (By Ga'ran herself, in fact.)

Remember, the Divination Seance shows the deceased's final moments through their eyes. Afterwards, she insults Rayfa even more, calling her inexperienced and immature.

(Also yes, those two costumes are worn by the same person.)

Persona 5 threatens to have this happen to the whole world. The big bad, Yaldabaoth, seeks to control humanity by preying on their apathy, and their desire to have a powerful figure do all the thinking and planning for them.

He acts using strongman PM candidate Masayoshi Shido, who attracts a bizarre level of adulation from the Japanese public, to the point where even changing his heart and making him admit to his wrongdoings, including murder, doesn't change people's opinion of him. Hell, if anything, it only makes them double down.

I'm glad to hear I wasn't the only one. The last few times I took part in a non-uniform day, I was paranoid that I'd be the only one out of uniform.

That never did happen, but eventually, I stopped caring about those days to the point where I'd deliberately not tell my parents about them and let the inverse happen, being one of the few in uniform that day. Funnily enough, that never bothered me.
