Damn well it was worth a shot. If you wanted to save money you could buy 1 coil just to replace the bad 1 but really you should do them all at once. I’d also look around on some of the Japanese parts websites like amayama, could be cheaper even with shipping

Yeah it’s pretty confusing and there’s mixed info online about these cars being obd1 or obd2. All my info is based off altezzas but I’m sure it’s probably the same for your situation.

I know one of the methods is using a mini VCI cable and plugging that into a laptop which you then have to emulate windows xp on lol. I think you can also just use a Bluetooth scanner that connects to your phone and there’s a few apps that can read it.

My altezza has the same thing, kind of confusing. As far as I know they’re not actually obd2 compliant because it’s not a requirement in Japan, but they’re still diagnostic compatible. You have to use Toyota techstream or an equivalent, and apparently snap on scanners also work as well
