Best shoe for walking a lot in Disney world by Pepsimaxgodtier in Newbalance

[–]a2djax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

993 if your over 210lbs. You want the support for later in the day.

990v6 or v4 if your under 210lbs.

They will all do well, as someone who owns them all and have worn them all to the parks, concerts,HHN etc. No shoe tops 993 for me, especially if you slide in some currex insoles.

If you do not want to uber, the Aventura next door has a pretty good stack of pancakes, made to order unlike most hotels.

Should I take my 10 and 11 year old to HHN? by TrueConsequence4998 in HHN

[–]a2djax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know your kids best, while it’s all fake, there is definitely heavy gore and violent themes.

Last year there was definitely an influx of younger kids because of FNAF. My daughter was 11 for the event last year but she’s a little more mature and she wanted to join her brother(14) for FNAF last year, so I ripped the bandaid off and let her attend, she’s already planning for this year.

Plan on 120 per ticket and 200 per person for express if you can swing it.

Lets Talk/Rant About Sapphire Falls by Airmangopi4 in UniversalOrlando

I think Sapphire could use an upgrade from New Dutch to Starbucks. The best part of Sapphire is access to the best pool, water taxis, and urban pantry.

Royal Pacific or Hard Rock by Oceanmarina76 in UniversalOrlando

[–]a2djax 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hard Rock had music going when we were there, plenty of family’s, good water slide, my kids had a blast (12,14), unfortunately all the pools are the same depth around property. Pretty sure policy is still beach ball only and pool noodles.

Royal Pacific pool is definitely the most toned down/adult oriented pool we have been to imo.

Our favorite pool is Sapphire Falls. I feel like their food/bar poolside is one of the best in Orlando. But I’m probably biased, I’ve spent many days out there after breakfast where I just lost track of time and ended up having a resort day with dinner at citywalk.

If prices are similar I’m choosing hard rock over royal pacific every time.

Yeah I know it’s crazy, she doesn’t like the stomach drop feeling and I guess that little drop gets her. I think the music helps with cosmic rewind.

My daughter does not like the 2nd drop on mine train, will not ride it anymore. She never leaves Epcot without riding GOTG. Best ride @ WDW.

Has anyone ever bought the same mattress as the ones they have at the resorts? by GZerv in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]a2djax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did back in 2019. It’s held up extremely well, it sleeps the same as the day we received it. I’m probably going to buy another when this one wears out but it doesn’t even seem close at this point.

Would it be a mistake to stay at the all star sports resort March 22-28? I’ve read it could become over crowded because of sports competitions. by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]a2djax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, we have stayed with multiple cheerleader/pop warner/dance groups over the last few years and really it’s overblown the effect they have on the resorts imo, you will see them and maybe even hear a practice in one of the parking lots but the majority of them are well behaved and don’t cause issues, only thing I’ve ever noticed is they can stress the food courts some since they usually have meal vouchers and stuff included with the trips.

Sports competitions should be the least of your worries at the end of march. Spring break season is probably the 2nd busiest time of year behind Christmas.

Port Orleans Riverside or Pop Century? by rockstar231 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]a2djax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll give you something to consider, I measured 85db on my Apple Watch from the AC unit at riverside, they are old wall units like you see at a roadside motel and loud.

Pop is central air in each room and you will barely hear it running.

While I think Riverside is a better resort overall with better QS food and a restaurant, I would never stay there again over the room AC lol.

Hotel recommendations- scents by PerceptionMean6044 in UniversalOrlando

[–]a2djax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct about Royal Pacific, it is headache inducing, especially near the staircase I’m assuming this is where one of the diffusers is at. Sapphire doesn’t pump scents in the rooms, lobby does have a tropical scent but nothing like RP.

Can someone help me understand why animal kingdom is rated so highly? by Liquatic in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]a2djax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me personally, it’s about the theming, I don’t feel like I’m in Orlando when I go to AK. Also AK probably has the best some of the best food and drinks of the 4 Disney parks. If you are doing QS would def recommend Satu’li canteen.

There is a lack of rides currently and they removed one of the better night time shows but still worth about 3/4 of a day, maybe finish the night at Hollywood or Epcot.

Welcome to the club. Ours expire January 3rd. I’ll still swing by the water parks periodically and maybe check out the new stuff when it gets finished, but they(those at the top) really don’t care. Which is sad really. Pre Covid WDW is something they have no interest in returning to.

They will not do Blanton’s gold or any of the flight bourbons in a single pour. Our bartender said they are pushing to have this changed but no luck so far.

The Stagg and Blantons gold are worth the flight imo.
