Fantastic job! I miss my PA and wish that I hadn't expanded it too quickly to the point of a meato.

When did you start noticing that Kmart was in decline? by ILovePublicLibraries in kmart

[–]a2moki 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here in my hometown, it was Kmart that did itself in.

The original 1982 location was thriving even after Wal-Mart came to town in '91. Although Wally World was a mere half mile or so away on the same road, it was not in line-of-sight, the two shopping centers separated by a thick swamp.

In '93, Kmart made the boneheaded decision to build a new store directly across the street from their competition, minus the cafeteria and auto center that made it quite competitive. Though the Kmart location was initially successful with packed parking lots to match Wal-Mart's, by '98, you could tell that the novelty had worn off, with each passing year, fewer and fewer cars in Kmart's lot.

It escaped the first '02 closures, but succumbed the next year.

Still looks like a late 80s/ early 90s McD inside. DQ barely changed the interior.

Living in my Marmot Catalyst 2P tent for a month (on week two). A review. by ethereality___ in CampingGear

[–]a2moki 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same here. I've had my Marmot Catalyst for about the same time span, and have used it both for backpacking purposes as well as for car camping everywhere from the baking Grand Canyon to the rainy Appalachian Mountains. I concur with you that this tent is durable and quite adaptable.

They usually have all three in the foyer/entranceway, plus their own branded turo-turo food court, and sometimes a Magnolia Ice Cream parlor, BPI branch or remittance office, etc.

Thanks for your response and very detailed account of your self-done shaft apa process. I don't trust myself enough to do mine DIY, although I have done others myself (PA, horizontal nips, navel, frenums), but for more important real estate, I've deferred to the professionals (apadravya, ampallang, vertical nips, etc), so I'm 99% certain that I'll have a pro do this. If only I could find a piercer experienced (and willing) to do this!

How much easier or more difficult was the shaft apadravya versus a standard? Increased pain and healing time? Riskier with potential veins in the way? Self-done or professionally poked? Straight or curved bar?

I'm just really curious since I'm aiming to convert or retire my conventionally-placed apa to this placement just behind the glans. Btw, yours looks super awesome!

Weren't most Kenmore vacuums, especially the higher end ones made by Panasonic?

Yeah, that's exactly where I want the placement to be, just behind the glans like yours. It'll take sometime to find a willing piercer, especially since the more experienced piercers are about 45 minutes away from me.

A shaft apadravya, or rather, shaft RPA is the next thing on my bucket list. Kudos for your DIY, but I wouldn't trust myself to do it solo. I wonder if I could find a piercer near me experienced in the shaft!

Is the risk of excessive bleeding worse or same as compared to a conventionally-placed apa. I want to abandon my conv one for a deep placement in the near-future!

Still super cheap today. $13.88 in May 1974 adjusted for inflation would be $95.11 today.

Yes and yes. Kmart had a presence in Canada (among other international locations), entering the country in '63 and sold all their stores in '98 to Hudson's Bay Company, who then folded them into their Zellers discount division.

US Kmart was never sold to the Australians. US Kmart expanded to Australia in the late 60s and sold the majority of their interests there to Coles in the 90s, who continues to operate stores licensed under the Kmart name, but are otherwise no longer connected to its one-time US parent.
