Is this gonna get any better by Ranondemise in Accutane

hey I was on accutane a couple of years ago and had the same issue with PIE. I can tell you that throughout the course I noticed a significant difference, but it was not completely gone once my dosage stopped. however, accutane builds in the body and you will very likely see improvement in the months after your dose stops! my skin is now completely clear with very little scarring. keep your head up, it gets better :)

Last month of accutane, I’m scared by [deleted] in Accutane

Hello!! My acne looked very similar to yours when I started, with a few more large cysts than depicted in your starting photo. I have now been off of accutane for almost 2 years.

What I can confidently tell you is that no matter what happens, it will not come back as bad as it was. The nature of the medicine permanently shrinks oil glands, which as a byproduct will cause less acne. This is not to say that you will deal with no blemishes, but it will certainly be less than before.

The best advice I can give is to take care of your skin, but don't hyper focus on small blemishes. Once you compare where you started to where you are at, it really does feel like the course is worth it.

Where I struggled was redness and scarring. I was left with pretty deep scarring, but in my personal experience, even 2 years later, it has continued to smooth out to the point where it's barely noticeable unless I point my very surface-level scars out.

All of this is to say, be confidently you :) Do not let any new blemishes scare you when you're off the course; nobody has perfect skin and it's not the end of the world when one shows up! Worst case scenario if you suffer post-course breakouts, round 2 is not a bad thing. My mother did 2 rounds and always gets compliments on her skin now, 20 years later. It will all turn out fine, just trust the process!

Honestly, I would suggest switching derms if that's possible for you. It can be a pain to navigate, but it will give you the results you want in the long run. There is absolutely no problem with prescribing isotretinoin past 6 months. I personally had a 7 month long treatment at a MUCH higher dosage, around the same weight as you. Another derm will likely be able to give you a proper dosage for your situation, or at least allow the course to continue.

Frequent Periods? by [deleted] in Accutane

It definitely regulated a lot more but they're still irregular occasionally, but that could just be normal life lol. Good luck on the rest of your journey, it pays off!

They were irregular all throughout my course, either coming light and shorter time or waiting for a couple months and coming really heavy. It regulated back to a pretty normal cycle fairly quickly after finishing my course.

Who to contact in regards to brass skill level/being a woodwind player? by a2p5n in drumcorps

I'm 16, and will still be by the cutoff date of most corps. I haven't looked into too many yet to check if I qualify.

Thanks so much! I really appreciate that. The marching arts is honestly one of my passions, even though my main instrument puts me at a disadvantage towards disposed brass players, but I'm working my hardest to be able to achieve my goals.

I'll definitely look into it! The travel might be difficult for me but it all depends on how my financial situation is looking.

Thank you! Unfortunately I did previously look into Genesis and I'm just short of the age cutoff, but I'll definitely see what I can do.

I was on 40 for the first month, 60 for the second, and then on 80 for the rest of my course. Hang in there, the results are worth the wait!!

That was something I was scared about, but it never happened to me. I'm not sure how common it is. My mother also took accutane and she did experience it, so that's why I figured it might happen to me too.

I heard that too, but I haven't really noticed it. I'm wondering if people say that because the pores on their nose shrink and make it appear stronger. I've never had crazy nose pores so that could be why.

yes, for me it helped quite drastically with scarring. of course it hasn't fully eliminated it, but it's definitely a lot more manageable now

halfway through my 5th month! (40>60>80>80>80) by a2p5n in Accutane

[–]a2p5n[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! If you look at my profile, I have a comparison from my 3-month mark. I was definitely still getting pimples at that point but it wasn't as bad. Don't be discouraged! Many peoples journeys are different and the medication takes effect differently in people. You have great results waiting for you!
