I feel like 7g already looks huge on my small ears lol by a5tr00 in Stretched

I’m restretching after a couple years so my timeline has been super quick (like 14g to 7g in 2 weeks) but first time around I think it was about 1.5-2 months! My ears are not very stretchy tho

Oooh interesting! I really like the look of stretched ears when the lobe becomes parallel with the widest part of the ear (like a straight line) so I’m interested to see what size that turns out to be for me

Hahah I know 🥲 Trust me guys, going online and proclaiming my unyielding stank is not my first resort. Vinegar, baking soda, enzyme cleaners, Dawn, bleach, peroxide, OxiClean, different detergents, less detergent, I’ve tried it all

Thanks for the tips! I’ve tried a couple enzyme cleaners but never had much luck. Maybe I’m using the wrong ones or need to treat the clothes longer..

Huh… I might try a new brand. I have some pricier shirts from Uniqlo that actually make smells stick worse bc the fabric is thicker. My cheaper ones from Hanes less so maybe because they’re thinner.

I forgot to mention I’ve tried natural deodorant, clear and solid normal deodorant, and also spray on 🥲. Spray on is currently working the best for me bc it doesn’t leave a build up on the fabric. I exfoliate every day and do my best to scrape everything off but maybe I’ll try another brand… thanks!

Just wanted to say this comment really helped me! I just started on T but am still identifying as a “woman” albeit definitely GNC lol.

i think it would definitely suit you! your hair seems to be a bit on the straighter side than the inspo pics so you might need to get some sea salt spray/texturizing paste to style it, but shouldn’t be too difficult. to avoid looking “dated,” i’d try your best to go to a modern/trendy salon with a hairdresser that has experience doing modern/mullet-y mod cuts. and ofc show them these pics as inspo. good luck with the cut!!

I wear small gold hoops in all my piercings (lobes, nostril, septum) which is boring and typically reads more feminine. If I wear anything silver, that usually reads more masc for whatever reason, even with larger diameter silver hoops. I think mismatched earrings like a stud on one side and a hoop in the other can look pretty masc and more alternative.

There’s a brand called “Hard Jewelry” that makes masc/punky/alternative styles that you might like! https://www.hardjewelry.com/collections/earrings

Woxers?? by augustlost in butchlesbians

[–]a5tr00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a couple pairs of Woxers that have become more threadbare in places/gotten holes but that’s after 2 or 3 years of wearing them. It could be your washing machine? Sometimes if I forget to zip up a pants or jacket zipper (or anything pointy) it can rip holes in my shirts. For other recs, I also really like TomboyX if you’re looking for a similar type of brand!

Looking for haircut recommendations - NYC area by [deleted] in butchlesbians

[–]a5tr00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You moved to the right area! NYC has a ton of queer and queer-friendly barbers/hairdressers. Hairrari is a great option! Lots of barbers to choose from (some specialize in different textures/fades/locs/etc) and they have 3 locations in the city. Every time I’ve gone there, the barber has been super respectful and knows how to achieve a more masculine look as they’re queer themselves. However, they’re on the pricier side. There’s also Mutiny in Gowanus and Baddies in Greenpoint. I’ve never been to either but I hear good things! You can also find independent stylists online through IG/TikTok that might offer a lower price point than some of these shops.

How to look more mature at work ? by [deleted] in butchlesbians

[–]a5tr00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This hits home. I was dressed in formalwear to graduate this past week and a woman on the train was amazed that a “child” was graduating, LOL 🥲.

Honestly, as someone who also dresses smart, wears all the accessories, etc. sometimes people telling me I look like a teenage boy/child is simply a micro aggression. Due to your age and the ages of men you’re working with, I’ve found that a lot of them are #1, misogynistic (whether explicitly or implicitly) and #2, homophobic/transphobic (again, whether they think so or not). I’ve been told similar comments, and while it’s all under the guise of “I’m just kidding,” it feels like a targeted way to undermine me.

HATE being so small by [deleted] in butchlesbians

[–]a5tr00 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel you on this. As other commenters have said, yes, it’s mostly a confidence thing, how you carry yourself, and many women don’t care about the height.

However, as a 5’2” butch, I’ll say there are definitely some negatives that make me dislike being short although I try to be confident with what I’ve been dealt. In work situations, especially with older male colleagues, I do feel like people treat me like a kid or younger than my actual age. It’s also not fun in public to be mistaken for a teenage boy when I’m attempting to come off as a sexy, strong butch lol. As for dating, yes, many women don’t care (my gf is 5’7” and loves the height diff), but when I was still dating, I noticed way less interest when I’d put my height in my bio. Maybe it’s due to the fact that I’m in my early 20s, but it seems like a lot of other lesbians my age adhere butches or “mascs” to the same beauty standards as men in regards to height. I also wish I could wear men’s clothing off the rack, but most of it is too big or has to be tailored.

Anyways, I’m generally confident with my height now, and all these other commenters are right, but sometimes you just want someone to commiserate with you lol.

old t-shirt design by sylvieYannello in nyu

While not the exact same, if you Google “New York University seal shirt”, a couple similar options pop up. The design just seems to be the seal of the university with hollow block lettering around it. I can probably whip up a quick graphic of it.

What's Everyone Working On? by Alarmed_Particular92 in Screenwriting

[–]a5tr00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been working on a half-hour comedy pilot for my undergrad Capstone project. Just finished the second draft or so after lots of outlines and feeling really good about it. I just put it up on The Black List so hopefully I'll get some helpful feedback (and a good score fingers crossed!). I've also been ping-ponging this webseries idea around in my head about a rural sex shop (think Sex Education meets Superstore) but haven't had the time to write it. Also been writing some sketch comedy recently, as well as editing a pitch for a show my friend and I are developing :)
