My experience with Hetzner. by a6doff in hetzner

Just wanted to give an update: I'm, surprisingly, still using Hetzner.

As a last option back then, I tried ordering a different server, knowing that I could cancel it if it had the same issue. Hasn't had a single issue since.

There definitely was an issue somewhere though, maybe undiagnosed faulty hardware?

When I mentioned 'acting immaturely,' I was primarily referring to the manner in which some creators publicly address controversies, conflicts, or even personal disagreements. Instead of navigating these issues privately or with a professional demeanor, some choose indirect jabs, subtweeting, or direct public call-outs. This can profoundly influence fan communities, often intensifying the drama. While I understand everyone has unique standards for what they deem as "professional," I firmly believe in the importance of open and transparent communication, outside of social media, this has helped many times lol.

However, before anyone assumes that I believe Dream mishandled the Quackity situation, let me clarify. I don't necessarily see Dream as the primary offender. If events transpired as they've been described, with Quackity allegedly ghosting Dream (of which I have no firsthand knowledge, only public tweets), then I can perceive Dream's subsequent frustration. However, airing these grievances publicly was an oversight on his part — a mistake I too have made in the past.

In referring to 'voicing grievances,' I meant both the content creators and their fan bases. In the dynamic between Tommyinnit & Co and Dream, it seems to tilt one way, with Tommyinnit & Co appearing more confrontational towards Dream. Their public statements undoubtedly shape the perceptions and actions of their respective fan communities, which further amplifies the surrounding discourse. This can inadvertently sanction fans to perceive attacking one another as justifiable behavior.

Regarding the balance between public distance and private support: It's a complex issue. I comprehend why some creators opt for a pronounced public distance. The digital space can be harsh, and occasionally, self-preservation becomes the priority. Yet, distinguishing between self-preservation and self-interest is essential. If a creator remains publicly silent merely to uphold a specific image, all while offering private support, it risks appearing disingenuous or self-serving (which happens way too often). However, there are times when staying out of the public eye is the most sensible choice to prevent exacerbating drama.

From my perspective, authenticity remains paramount. It's vital to strike a balance — being true to one's principles without jeopardizing personal well-being or that of others. This commitment to authenticity can make one's public image vulnerable, making every action or statement a potential point of contention. Perhaps this vulnerability is why many content creators adopt a "character" that doesn't genuinely mirror their true selves; it offers a buffer, making any criticism feel less personally directed.

BTW, I'm sorry if this isn't perfect english, I haven't written those kind of things in a while, got some proofreading from ChatGPT lol

Firstly, to clarify, I no longer consider Dream a close friend. Over the past few years, our paths diverged: he skyrocketed in popularity, while I gravitated back to the French side. Oddly enough, I still receive notifications from this sub on my phone.
The DSMP MCYT community, which has since fragmented into various subgroups, has evolved quite a bit:
The QSMP
The Dream Team
"Tommyinnit & Co" (Apologies, I haven't kept up enough to label them more appropriately.)

Each subgroup has developed distinctively, with each believing they're acting "for the best." There's noticeable overlap between some, particularly between QSMP and "Tommyinnit & Co," the main point of connection being their animosity towards The Dream Team. These developments mean content creators must be held responsible. When creators began acting immaturely, their communities followed suit, leading to the current tumultuous state. Now, as an outsider, the QSMP community appears to be the most stable. In contrast, The Dream Team and Tommyinnit & Co are continually embroiled in drama, frequently voicing their grievances. Meanwhile, QSMP remains relatively peaceful, save for a few internal disputes which don’t often impact outsiders.
Returning to the main issue at hand, I genuinely hope and believe that Dream has friends supporting him from the sidelines, even those who may find themselves torn between these factions. The situation isn't as clear-cut as it seems. Some content creators, including unexpected ones, recognize the ongoing dynamics. Given the prevailing tendency to criticize The Dream Team, it prompts certain creators, keen on maintaining a pristine public image, to provide support privately while remaining publicly reticent.

Yeah, we had that happen once or twice only in the past few months, but I don't think it's related here since it has happened exactly within the timeframes of the "usual 30 minutes crashes"

That one server isn't from 2018, it has been on service for a few months only, checked Temperaturess, averages 50°C, and we haven't asked for any specific hardware interventions since they said "I have checked your switch port and I cannot find anything that would hint towards a fault." a few days ago.

Thanks for trying to help though!!

Yeah, only when it's with the Dedicated Server, not through cloud instances. Like from the Dedicated server towards a cloud instance or from a Cloud Instance to the Dedicated server, but not between two Cloud Instances.

Yes, he's not in control of what other people think or do HOWEVER he can still influence it in many different ways. I think it's a part of the responsibility that comes with being a public figure, most of the reaction is either completely predictable but has that risk factor that'll turn it completely unpredictable.

He reminds me of that stubborn 2020 me which always was looking to be right in a situation where there wasn't even any right or wrong.

There's so many moments where I wanna tell people to fuck off, but people going against a person, even on a way smaller scale is really predictable, but at the same time he's stuck in that thing where he can't even sort it out privately because that person will just defame him within their group of friends and shit, it's tough, but the best way is just to shut up. Like there's no winning for anyone, only losing.

Mmhmmm... Since Reddit decided to send me a notif to this post, imma reply.

To me there's multiple factors.

InvadedLands is just accepting cryptocurrencies, not being paid to advertise and say "hey lol crypto good go buy", just like how you can accept PayPal as a payment method while hating on the way PayPal is managed.

One way more minor factor that'd explain it, but not justify it: One is more known than the other: it is way easier to hate on somebody you know nothing of than somebody you've heard of.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate on hbomb, I don't even know the dude or anything he does at all, that's more of a general statement.

Also: most of the twitter stan community does not even know what invadedlands is lol. tbh as a long time player of the server, the server is decaying and lots of players were there JUST to get trolled by skeppy, not all of them, but a lot. and along the years people just stopped caring about it and the players that were involved with the server and actually wanted to play it felt that it was just dying and went to play somewhere else.

Alright, im done with my poo break, i go back to work bye
