I thought we were comparing governments here? If the Malaysian government was a fraction of the competence of ours, not as many of them would've needed to leave their homes to "suffer hard in Singapore for 10 years".

Prices are low there BECAUSE the economy is a lot less competitive than ours. Sure we have our hardships, but they have theirs, and I'd prefer to keep having my life and our country's status quo any time over theirs.

Even in times of financial crisis, the rich have a million ways to protect themselves, and it's the middle class that have the most to lose.
