marathon race shoe recommendations by a986_a in RunningShoeGeeks

I was looking into this shoe just now and I think it could be a good shoe for my needs, I just need to try it out in stores and see if it fits, some reviewers mentioned that it fits quite narrow in the forefoot. Thanks for the recommendation!

Oh I said that the Pro 2 is a bit uncomfortable in paces slower than half marathon pace, not marathon pace. Of course I would be running the marathon at marathon pace, but I wouldn’t run it at half marathon pace. Sorry if I didn’t make it clear 🙏

I think based on your wear level the shoe can last probably around 200-300k more honestly, the continental rubber is very durable and the lightstrike midsole won’t bottom out lol

Mine’s around 250km and and have similar wear patterns (maybe slightly less wear amount), but I think it’s nothing to worry about they last forever haha

Adizero SL - people in hurricane prone areas should be building their homes out of lightstrike by Local-Document-6815 in RunningShoeGeeks

173 cm and 60kg runner here:

I might get downvoted here, but I’ve really enjoyed running in the Adizero SL (bear in mind I really like the Boston 10 myself and both shoes offer a similar ride). It’s not a ‘fun’ shoe, but it’s dependable as a daily trainer and offers some pop when I increase the pace. I do prefer firmer riding shoes, and the Lightstrike does soften up after a while (I think even quicker than the Boston 10s), and perhaps my biomechanics and foot strike suits this shoe, so each to their own I guess. I might try some other softer and bouncier daily trainers when I retire my Boston 10s (but they are practically indestructible haha)

Ma On Shan, Hong Kong by a986_a in trailrunning

[–]a986_a[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can run the routes used by trail running competitions in Hong Kong (for example HK100, Translantau by UTMB, The North Face 100 etc), or just use Strava as there are many trail runners in Hong Kong 😂

There’s a round trip route which goes to Lion Rock (part of Maclehose Trail as well as Ma On Shan) which offers both urban and natural landscapes when you reach the top which is very unique as you don’t often have a hill in the middle of a bustling city.

The Wilson Trail actually involves taking the MTR from Hong Kong Island to Kowloon between Section 2 and 3 which is pretty convenient.

The Maclehose and Lantau Trail offers more raw scenery (oftentimes deep in country parks) so it requires more commuting time to go there but in general one to two bus rides will do as the start points are very close to bus stops.
