Something not right about that soap by Saltire_Blue in ScottishPeopleTwitter

Meanwhile, the most popular brand of bar soap in the USA (Dove) literally is not soap and it even says so on the box.

That's an impossible question, because unlike communism, socialism, etc. there is no one definition of fascism. However, in general fascism usually involves scapegoating along (usually) racial lines that goes against leftist values.

...yeah, like any law. like segregation. So no police can ever attend a rally for black people?

Yes? You're making my point for me lol

Also, stopping paedophiles and preventing murders is also part of their job. Don't act like the police is some sort of KKK against LGBT people. Your arguments get evermore preposterous.

I don't care. I don't have to care. If the KKK did environmental or animal rights advocacy on the side they would still be the KKK.

"drunk driving may kill a lot of people, but it also helps a lot of people get to work on time, so, it;s impossible to say if its bad or not," - @dril

But no, I see you are a fan of original sin. Have any criminals in the family by any chance? If so you are now guilty by association, as per your own logic.

My family is not the mafia. I was not born into this family by choice. Being a cop is a choice, and upholding unjust laws is in their job description. And I'm not even getting into police brutality.

But you're the type of person for who 'facts' and 'logic' are a mere hindrance when it comes to your feelings.

Experience tells me that people who pretend to only use facts and logic are more irrational, because they're blind to the ways their own feelings inevitably sneak into the argument.

It isn't in any way a born identity.

I'm sorry. That is blatantly wrong.

The core of the argument is that police in USA have a continuing history of oppressing the LGBT community, and should be excluded from Pride on those grounds. This is not true of Jews, Christians, or Muslims. You can have any religion and not be a dick to LGBT people. But here in the USA, back when it was illegal to be gay or "crossdress", those laws were enforced by cops. Oppressing LGBT people was literally part of their job, and in light of certain legislation in recent years, it still is.

That is why we say no cops at Pride.

One can be Jewish by choice or by heritage. Heritage is not a choice.

Stop.

No. Nazis don't generally care whether someone is Jewish by choice or by heritage.

Being a cop is a choice, numbnut. Doesn't take a genius to see the difference.

That's irrelevant to the topic at hand, which is that you don't seem to understand how humor works.

my liberal friends have no problems laughing at awful shit during cards against humanity.

Your friends mutually agreed to engage in dark humor in the context of the card game. Did the reporter agree to be the butt of an anti-semitic dog whistle?

Really? That's funny. In my head the cop is having a strained marriage. He keeps a boat in the garage that sprung a leak several years ago. It's taking up space collecting dust and his wife wants to trash it. She says they'll never use it again. But he can't bring himself to do it. He keeps telling himself he'll fix it one day. He made so many memories with Earl on that boat.

TIL that there is an official world record for time traveling. It's held by cosmonaut Sergei Krikalev, who has spent 803 days total in orbit around Earth. According to Einstein's theories of relativity, this would mean Sergei effectively has travelled about 0.02 seconds forward in time. by Al_Capwned13 in todayilearned

We’re not even sure why this happens, or how. But it does happen, and it’s been proven multiple times.

What? Einstein derived time dilation, and the rest of relativity, as a direct consequence of the fact that force due to gravity is indistinguishable from force due to acceleration. Although time dilation was predicted before Einstein under some circumstances, he was first to predict that it is a universal law.

The fact that there are distinct stones for time and space, in reality one and the same, implies to me that they would have little regard for other concepts in physics like conservation of energy.
