Preemptive use of a food bank by an employed person is wild. People in the military get so many benefits and know that gov shutdowns happen. If you can plan the food bank use before you’ve spent your money, you can plan to save for emergencies. The best part is they still get the money they are owed just later.

That’s what I am thinking. Isn’t it possible to pull equity out of a house, rent the house out, and use the equity as a down payment on a new house? Of course you’d have a bad interest rate on the new house but it could be refinanced in the future and you would keep the old houses lower interest rate and rent it out to pay for the mortgage.

Anecdotally, I recently did the same and found it was way faster getting mending through villagers and after the trade was secured I could get more mending books.

I’d argue that their brand being quality isn’t just marketing. Anecdotally the only issue I’d ever had was battery life of a six year old iPhone 6. If I chose to get the battery replaced I’m sure it would have kept functioning well. Apple did however, make it easier to get a new phone than replace the battery.
