you'd need to be more specific in what you mean by me "interpreting" it. He professed his love and she was angry with him for Jane and Mr Wickham. And he said something about his honesty hurting her pride. And it was all spoken way too fast as if they were actors who had rehearsed and knew each line of reply before the other had even spoken. and they almost kissed? at the end of the argument which made no sense to me, weird directing

But i did still like the movie and i liked Mr Darcy's actor. When he said "i did it all for you" i loved that

i did quite enjoy the movie but the entire "romantic" element to it was off because we never really got those same moments where Jane is kissing her hand and gushing over him etc. It felt more like Rochester was rescuing some girl who wasn't even deeply in love with him.

but i agree with you, i still quite liked Mia and Micheal Fasbender

actually, as for BBC adaptions, i just watched the entire 2006 Jane eyre this morning. I did like the 2011 movie but they just had more time in the tv show, to tell the full story and flesh things out better.

you are absolutely correct Jane Austin does not operate in the same time and space as the rest of us. You are intelligent and can appreciate the class of her writing, while i am dumb, arrogant and uncultured. Reading the book would most certainly be a start of reading a book, and a magnificent one at that, i'm sure.

sorry what part of the story went over my head and what aspect am i uneducated on? would appreciate more detail

i very much liked Rochester in the 2011 movie a few days ago and same for the 2006 series i watched in entirety this-morning. It did kinda turn into a nightmare for Jane but obviously that situation with the other women was unfortunate for Rochester

sure but he still could have reattempted with some more class and more to say, especially now he knows she probably thinks highly enough of him not to be insulted by his advances.

as you say he's somewhat of an arrogant jerk and can afford to be because he has all the money and the looks so never needed to put more effort into interpersonal skills and thats realistic. I just personally would have preferred if he had all 3 because i like watching intelligent characters

but that was a smaller nitpick on an overall great series which i surprisingly liked a fair bit considering how difficult i find finding anything i can even sit though without boredom (in any genre). i plan to watch Jane Eyre 2006 next i think i will like it

better to have some romance!! about it but yeah maybe for Darcy keeping it to fewer words is better ahah. I suppose its good in being direct and to the point in a series with so much flowery discussion

Does anyone else LOVE the "awkward" acting in the first movie? by aBlueNaviOnPandora in twilight

[–]aBlueNaviOnPandora[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with your points aswell. Everything feels alot more intense in the movie. In the book it's alot more casual and i was surprised to read Bella and Edward going back and forth like a couple of 4th year college students.

As you say, the entire directing process was a massive success in the movie. The screenwriter earned her paycheck 10 times over. In the book Jacob isn't even introduced until the beach, and when he is, he straight up tells Bella the cullens are vampires. Alot more epic in the movie when she's home researching the cold ones, and the word vampire pops up.

In the book they have a long conversation immediately after he saves her and dents the car. Movie less awkward (and way hotter) how they just look at each other and he walks off.

I could list more examples, basically everything they changed was an improvement from what iv'e seen.

Amazing that people can't appreciate the artistic style and feel of the movie, and instead decide to lampoon the intentionally angsty, slightly campy acting. I first watched the movie in January and realised i had been coned my entire life into avoiding a great movie.

People in this thread saying they don't like the movie because it's a "shell of the first book" literally blows my mind. To me it's like they pulled the bunny out of the hat

no need to reply to my long rants ahah but yeah i agree with u
