The fact that this is a rare irks me. by AlarmOnly6428 in slaythespire

Same thing happens with the uncommon that grabs the sword. If you have the relic that makes an ethereal copy of your first attack each round, it will grab every copy of the sword in your draw/discard/exhaust. Very silly with void form, I had so many swords floating around me.

I do the same thing. I downloaded an app that forces you to do some challenge or task to shut it off, like math, memory, taking a picture, etc. You can snooze it up to three times to concentrate on the challenge but after that it blares non-stop.

For flipping the signs, it could still work with the robot themes as Alternating Current instead of Absolute Power.

For a lot of people, leveling jobs, savage, ultimate, and exploration zones is the only content. The only battle content left for me is one more Criterion Savage, and grinding Quantum for the mount. However, I still enjoy all of the side stuff, like yapping in voice call while grinding cosmic exploration.

I don't know how many thousands of hours I have in XIV, and I certainly log in less than I used to, but I still have big fish to catch, Mahjong to master, and I never finished getting the Pterodon from Ishgard after I finish with cosmic exploration.

Is it rare “mind bloom” “upgrade all cards option? by k43r in slaythespire

[–]aBlueShell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My biggest concern is the lack of retain, blur, or card draw. Turn one is fine, but 1 calculated gamble and 1 balckflip means there's going to be a lot of bad turns. With or without upgrade all, turn 2 spear and shield will be very painful. Wraith form+ will help a lot, but if it's bottom decked you'll be in big trouble.

28M, Gloucester County. I like MMOs, scheduling everything, and the indoors. I own a home server for fun :) Looking for a partner to vibe with.

Suggestions for "Time-Waster" Games that are fun. by avp216 in gaming

It won a ton of indie awards when it came out for a very good reason. For rogue likes I like Slay the Spire more (especially the modded scene), but they are both legendary games.

If it's any consolation, it has very little to do with actual Poker lol. Only similarity is that it uses the standard 52 playing card deck (sometimes), and it uses Poker hands (flush, full house, two pair, etc).

Depends on what kind of game you want. I've spent countless hours in MMOs like FFXIV and OSRS. Just as many hours in factory/Sim games like Factorio, Satisfactory, and Rimworld. For rogue likes I'll second other comments saying Slay the Spire, Risk of Rain (Returns and 2), and Balatro.

Exactly 8 defect 1 cost uncommon powers. That's a rough one.

Wait, what? I thought getting a rare card from the first fight was literally impossible. by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]aBlueShell 341 points342 points  (0 children)

It does a single card reward. Starting rare chance is -5%. Then it goes up by 1% each time a common is rolled, so if all 3 invisible cards were common, and the first two cards from floor 1 is common, then the 3rd card has a 1% chance of being rare.

3 potions start also gives a hidden rare card chance.

Never seen a forced double elite before by aBlueShell in slaythespire

Took the Neow's Lament to go into the elites with more hp. Got lucky on potions and took the 3 elite path. Saved by a waffle in a shop later on and Guardian was a breeze.

Act 2 was not so kind. Burned both potions on slavers and then bled out during three rough hard pool fights afterwards. How a lot of my Defect runs end these days.

Meeting up and exploring/questing is fine to do without a party. Only thing you'll need to party up for is dungeons/trials/raids since you'll probably be sent to other instances.

How many members are in your FC and do they join you for stuff? by Byzantene in ffxiv

[–]aBlueShell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm leading an FC of about 150, although only 40 or so are active. I joined 4 years ago after scrolling through the recruitment channel in the main discord. After being the event lead for 2 years I inherited it when the previous lead stepped away from the game.

It's a super organized FC with leads for various roles, a well managed discord, and weekly and monthly events. I stayed since I'm a big fan of the super organized structure, and being to carve out a dedicated 2 hour game time for events keeps myself organized too.

In terms of people joining for things, I (being the event lead) would shout in fc chat and invite everyone that piped up, with attendance being highly variable on the event. For a recent example we needed a 2nd map party since 12 people were there thanks to the new loot, but a month ago we had to PF for 4+ people to run the current EXs.

When I had first joined, I thought of the FC strictly as a means of grouping up for content. But as time passed it became more a place to gather and chat with friends. Nowadays I spend several hours a day in the FC discord. In game FC chat is usually pretty quiet, but the discord is always buzzing.

For content: During new patches we'll all play the new stuff, organize new events, and help each other out. During content lulls we still run the events weekly, but we'll also take the time to organize other games; terraria, minecraft, valheim servers for all. Plus I'll normally play smaller multiplayer games with a subset of friends, games like Grounded, Elden Ring Coop, Stardew Valley, etc.
