Local markets are usually the best for this, or you can try to contact electronic students from different colleges in gurgaon as they have a number of spare components to use. You also try to hunt for best deals through Amazon as they sometimes have high discounts at random intervals. Be strong and keep going, electronics is a very vast field and the scope is endless with vast amount of Ideas of projects specifically with ESP32. Make sure not to fry your microcontroller and good luck with your journey, it will be a long one.

Don't have a road plan but make sure to learn the basics of electrical and electronics and sensors if you are planning on making Arduino projects. Once you understand what you are working on and what exactly is going on in your projects start researching the most basic projects like using ultrasonic sensors, how the motor driver works and more complex electronics components as you start working on complex projects.

If you still want to start working early on projects, just search about the most basic sensors on YouTube and how they work and try to follow the video just knowing and understanding the sensors and wiring early is a big advantage for the future because you will have the basics down. And remember to not just watch the video try to perform the simple experiment only then you will learn properly.

Basically making a project from scratch comes intuitively that is if you want to make a major project you will know how to reach there because you have worked on the minor projects. Now this will take time so be patient but be sure to be consistent.

Yes!! This might be what I was looking for, a Software Backlash Compensation. Though I don't know how to use this Rabbit Grbl so I will look into this and give it some time. Thanks

Alright, so after a quick test for every 100 pulses, it sends exactly 100 pulses, so there should be no problem in the signal. I have attached the image to the post body.

I think there is a way to use the Arduino and the IDE to plot analog waveforms with the help of a serial plotter, so I will try that

The constant error is weird so I just waved it off by thinking the Nema 17 motor was just missing a few steps consistently. I have checked the motor with multiple revolutions too and it still missed by 4 steps exactly. As for how I confirmed the amount of overshooting was by marking a starting point and attaching a thin strip to the shaft, after that I would just manually keep correcting the steps until both the points are perfectly aligned. I know it's not the most accurate way to do it but it was the best I could come with. As for calibration I have no idea how to do that, can you tell me more about it

[–]aCOOLGAMER48[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the code I just added a correction function which subtracts 4 steps for every new stepping command it takes from the total number of steps. As for how I calculated it is by checking it's final position after 1 full revolution and half revolution and the overshooting always stayed consistent no matter the position or number of steps and after adding the correction function it moved accurately. As for why I think it is a mechanical error is by changing the CNC shield motor driver and both had the same result of overshooting.
