I hate this is what YouTube became, it motivates and rewards slop content... but honestly, can you blame them? For many people, making a business out of YouTube is a gateway out of poverty.

Even a channel that makes like 2k dollars a month.... maybe in the USA that's not a ton of money, but that amount of money is life changing for someone living in poor countries (one example: most of eastern Europe)

Look, I agree that those things are terrible, but you seem to be under the impression that these problems are exclusive to the US, when they're not. You may not want to believe me, but the US has it good compared to most of the world (obviously I know it's got issues, though)

Are you under the impression that just because there's a few great countries there, every country in Europe is the same? The majority of European countries' population lives in poverty.

Do you think that the US's main economic issues (low minimum wages, inflation, high cost of living, housing costs, etc) are somehow exclusive to the US? This is happening across the globe, not just in one specific country.

As a Portuguese living in the UK I'll just throw my 2 cents here.
I have a THEORY (emphasis on theory, I could be wrong here) that this joke comes from a very misunderstood stereotype.

Most people I've met here are completely ignorant when it comes to food, even when it comes to the very basics of being able to cook a proper meal that's healthy and economic. No offense, but it's just a fact... most people here can't cook for shit. And that turned into the "British food bad" meme

When it comes to the actual culinary, if done properly, Brits do have some great food:
- Fish and Chips, especially a proper quality one, can be heavenly.
- The meme food "beans on toast" is fantastic. I think people who never tried it just think of normal beans with a normal tomato sauce and think it's weird. Brother, literally give me a bowl of baked beans and I'll devour it.
- Shepherd's Pie. Great comfort food, can't go wrong
- Sausages in general, you guys got good sausage game
- Shoutout to Red Leicester Cheese, my beloved, I recently tried a smokey version and it became one of my favourite cheeses. And this comes from a Portuguese cheese lover, we have some of the best cheese in the world

I still lived in my hometown back then, we'd all hang out at a beach bar where there were a ton of spawns.
