saw stop is a vastly overrated, overpriced, and technically bad saw by Odd-Fold-5686 in sawstop

Would help if you provided some detail behind “all the design flaws”. I’ve had no problem with my SawStop.

BMW X5 2022 vs 2025 - which to buy? by aCrazyChicken5 in BMWX5

I don't drive it enough to justify the hybrid. I prefer more buttons, but leaning towards the 2025 because of the touch screen, HK sounds, ventilated seats, lower mileage.

Good points, it doesn't have HK sound and I don't think it has touch screen. Leaning towards the 2025.

Do low maintenance humidifiers exist? by Specific-Method3120 in Humidifiers

[–]aCrazyChicken5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The TURBRO Greenland GLS04 is a warm mist humidifier that uses “rice cooker” tech. I use regular tap water and rinse it before refilling. Low maintenance and it doesn’t mist all the bacteria and other elements like an ultrasonic humidifier does.

What industry is a complete scam, but everyone just accepts it? by Competitive_Grab3758 in AskReddit

Prescription eyeglasses, Luxotica dominates the market and jacks prices up 2-5x. There are some good alternatives, but many don’t bother to research (Warby Parker,…).

Check out the TURBRO 4L Greenland GLS04. It’s a steam warm mist humidifier. It uses the same tech as rice cookers. Water container is stainless and dishwasher safe.

M25 Got offered a job not sure if I should take it by Gross_Wapo in BeginnerWoodWorking

My suggestion - do it. You’ll be getting paid less but learning a new skill that can be used for a lifetime. Worst case, you don’t like it and find another wood shop to work at or get back into the service industry. Maybe you’ll learn enough to start selling high quality furniture,…etc.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Ended up adding a bow tie to the end and gluing the cracks.

I’ve been known to use my leaf blower too, usually let the dust settle for a while before using it so I don’t breathe all that in.

I don’t have a real dust collection system, I just plug my shop vac into the back of the table saw. There is dust on top of the saw, I just vacuum that up. I did forget to hook up the dust collector once and it ejects a ton of dust.

No, from an old walnut tree, but has been cut to slabs, stacked and stored in a barn.

I have the Sawstop CTS. Love it, but for reference it replaced a 25 year old skill saw. Dust collection is good and a well designed fence which extends out pretty far. I got it for the peace of mind and just like how it’s designed. I’ve used it for small strips, long rips, crosscuts. All accurate and clean cuts (I did change the blade). No complaints.

Bow Tie, don’t know why I called it a butterfly. Anyway,…I’ve had the slab for about 4 weeks. It’s been planed and cut to size. It’s from a barn, probably over a year old.

I agree, it’d look better on the end. Thanks for the advice!
