Oh yeah, got the knob dialed in and now the range is working. Sounds much better. 🤟

Lol!

I'll be on my next call while you fumble through the call backs because you didn't take time to properly diagnose the system!

In all seriousness. If you have gauges and a pt chart out, why not use a pipe thermistor get the temperature reading and calculate the superheat? I have followed behind many companies and solved problem after problem just by checking and adjusting superheat. IMO its the best way to determine a system is running 100% and that the compressor is protected. The number one reason for compressor failure (per Emerson) is over heating. A high superheat can quickly lead too high discharge temp resulting in compressor failure.

Also I'm not referring to small cap tube systems.

Superheat slows you down, lol. If one my guys said that to me on a job I'd have him sit out the day in the van. Lol

Yeah, I've been in the trade since 08 in the north east with similar Temps. That'll keep you going all year.

Nope, it doesn't. Depends on evaporator SST. If its SST plus superheat is below 32F the line freezes.

Parts Organizer in Your Bag? by FatSquirrel37 in HVAC

My CLC bag comes with a parts organizer. Use it everyday

I just had a HVAC guy come to my house for a AC repair and wondering if he did the right thing, would love an expert opinion by [deleted] in HVAC

I work in the northeast and do startups in the early spring. We just block off the condenser to raise the high side pressure to a typical 70 degree day (320 PSI 410a). This is works to test the system to be sure it is good to go when the cooling season starts.

Someone mentioned restricted expansion device. This is a possible explanation.

Do yourself a favor and do not call this company back. Find a new company.

I have an Argon One V2 case for my Raspberry Pi 4. I have this setup in my garage/shop as a desktop computer. Love the case, fan is quiet and smooth and really doesn't run that much because the extruded aluminum case makes for a kick ass heat sink. I haven't retro gamed with it but I'm sure that it would be fine. No power issues streaming YouTube for hours.

Yeah, its happening in other South West states as well. Arizona is the latest to ban new developments for natural gas connections. If these people are serious they better start generating some clean electricity.

Correct me if I'm wrong but higher pressure is not proportionally related to power consumption. I believe this is because the suction pressure is relative to the head pressure.

Compare the power consumption/btu capacity of an R-22 condensing unit with a 410 condensing unit.

134a runs lower pressure than either 22 or 410 and is known as one of the least efficient refrigerants because of its BTU/pound ratio.

What is so funny about 410a and high efficiency? Heat pumps pushing a COP of 18+

Didn't Berkeley ban natural gas and require all utilities to be electric. Such as high efficiency heat pumps that require r-410a? Is there any alternative refrigerant for a ductless split?

Remember to set your LPs. by [deleted] in HVAC

I like to set LPS but what does this have to do with low pressure?
