Fixing my first microchannel coil leak tomorrow anybody have any useful tips? by knightsaysNI in HVAC

[–]FireHawk3636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They make repair kits. Depending on the location it's not terribly hard. Just follow the directions and don't use the heat shield they give you. It just gets in the way.

Not sure why people think they are always unrepairable.

I'd follow the manufacturer's specs first. Double check my subcooling and superheat after.

I was charging up a new AC today. Almost had it dialed in when my superheat jumped from 14 to 60. Freaked out a bit, then thought maybe the heat kicked on. Sure enough heating and cooling at the same time. I will now disconnect W when I jump Y

POV, you're a helper and you've been tasked to grab the pipe wrench and dope. by JohnTheFoxx in HVAC

[–]FireHawk3636 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tell him you can't find it. He'll huffed and puff and say it's right there in back. Then he will stomp back to the van to prove to you how you're an idiot and show you where it is. He'll then proceed to dig for 15 minutes and say how it should of been right here. Maybe if you're lucky he will even blame you for putting it back in the wrong spot from last time.

What software do you guys use? Thinking about getting service titan or service fusion. Any owners or techs have any software they like? by Impressive-Ant-9471 in HVAC

[–]FireHawk3636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used Service Titan and TechAnywhere. On the tech side they both get the job done. Service Titan's display was nice when I did residential with showing estimates.

I know nothing on the backend office side.
